Feeling Like Royalty!
Ah, Yardley London Perfumed Talc! I have the happiest memories of Yardleys from a favorite Aunt who always smelled so good & in whose closet hung lavender in wee woven baskets. Yardley's Talc was in her bathroom & it was a treat to be allowed to use it. It has not been available in stores where I live---the real deal, the authentic English lavender from London. I was really excited but a bit anxious when I ordered it from Amazon.Would it still be wonderful? Yes, yes, and yes. This lavender exceeds my expectations---the container is large and holds a generous seven ounces which is a lot of talc--the top is perforated with a cover that slides to close the talc when I'm through, preventing wasteful spills and preserving the fragrance--it is intensely lavender, so it actually could be used as a closet sachet. When used as a body powder, the scent is very present but more delicate, not like I'd jumped into a vat of cologne--the talc is SILKEN! Soooooo soft, and leaves my skin feeling like satin--It does not pile up or pack onto my clothes, but stays where it belongs on my skin. The container is a handsome flat oval, in a soft lavender color, with the insignia of Queen Elizabeth II & the three ostrich plumes of The Prince of Wales. The bottom is quality metal & the seams are tight---no leaking or talc trails. This is a wonderful value, a bit of "luxe" that makes me feel like a Queen now, as much as when I was a little girl.ANY READER ALERTS? No alerts or issues. If, however. lavender is not your favorite scent, Yardley has the same quality talc in at least five other fragrances for the same price. Me, I'm delighted with their lavender!

English Lavender powder in smart tun
I have used lavender scents for years. I am quite pleased with the fragrance, ease of application and twist closure to prevent spills. I will be ordering this again

Nice quality, but it's not lavender any more!
This smells nice and is a good textured powder, but they have muddled the scent and it is definitely no longer purely lavender. Smells of geranium, lemon, something else. Fresh and herbal, sweet and clean, but if you want just pure lavender, you'll have to go to Taylor's of London.

BEST LAVENDER POWDER, TRUE, LASTING SCENT
Oh, Lavender! Sweet smell of my youth! My grandmother always used lavender talc and every once in awhile she dust a bit on my neck. Even back then maybe I had found the scent to soothe my soul and spirit. Today I use lavender essential oil for a sleep aid: just a drop on a folded tissue tucked into your pillowcase.Back in the day, if I received this talc as a gift, it was a big deal to me, and I'd try to make it last. I remember shaking the very last particle out! But back then it was too pricey, and as I married and had children, I bought myself less expensive beauty/bath products. As most moms do! And then retirement! Ahh, some goodies can now be purchased, and ENGLISH LAVENDER BY YARDLEY is one of my guilty pleasures. The scent is sospot on and lasts throughout the day. Love this so much and will definitely be buying more. Maybe someday one of my grandchildren will smell the scent of lavender...and think of me.

Still smells the same
I'm over 50 and when I was growing up, great granny used Yardley Lavender soap and talc. Kept the talc on her dressing table in a dish with a big puff. She'd say, keeps you fresh in the hot heat of summer. A few weeks ago it started getting really hot. I went to the pharmacy to pick up regular things and says a bar of Yardley, it smelt like my great granny. Always made her bathroom smell nice. Last week, it was meltable hot. The Heat got me good and I hated it. Was at the pharmacy for gift cards and decided to get a tin of talc ... I remembered great granny had a powder dish with a big puff and the tin was in the dresser to make her hankies smell as pretty as the looked. No tin! What, forever you could find Yardley ... Amazon! I got two, this and OMG, English Rose! My hubby says I smell like his great granny - lol! Oh well, I was dry today and will be tomorrow. Love the lavender, but you have to smell the rose - lol!

Absolute delight to find talc again
The difference in absorbance between talc and cornstarch is astounding. Talc wins hands down. Smooth on your body, does not disseminate into the air and get everywhere like cornstarch. A single application and I stay fresh and dry all day. Not so with cornstarch. Also. If one is prone to yeast in skin folds.cornstarch is the worst for that as it feeds the yeast. Thank you, Yardley. Exactly as I remember.
