BC Precision 1/8" Stainless Steel Tumbling Media, 4 Shape Mix, 2 lb Pack

The straight pins are nice, but leave a lot to be desired. Using my wet tumbler never really got the cases the way I wanted them. They were kinda clean, but two hours of tumbling should have had them looking like new! No deal, ordered this stuff... totally different! 35 minutes with my usual wash solution and they come out looking like brand new cases. Only complaint... the pins and the small balls are the perfect size to get stuck in the primer pockets together. Next time, order the mix without the balls! Could not really be much happier with the product. Also works on jewelry really well. When I loose enough of this media, I am going to try a different brand, however, this brand has worked wonderfully well for all I have used it for. Considering I process about 300 pounds of brass per month, this stuff has d9ne an excellent job. Would recommend it if you are a medium to low volume shooter!

Used this in my rock tumbler to make silver sparkle! Good range of shapes.

Not sure what people are saying but I left them in water multiple times on accident and they never rusted. (weeks at a time)

So, after reading the reviews of others I did some checking on Stainless steel properties and the company that makes this item. Then I purchased it, it works great. The rounded shaped shot is non magnetic SS, usually in the range of 304 to 316 both of which are mostly non magnetic but they have a much stronger corrosion resistance with the 316 being marine grade (for salt water) The pins in the mix are stainless steel designed to be magnetic, otherwise they would be useless in a magnetic tumbler, primarily for cleaning brass ammo for reloading, this mix is done in a manner that allows for the use of either a rock tumbler or a magnetic tumbler. The use of a magnet to remove the pins from your tumbler prior to cleaning will eliminate the issue of the pins falling through your strainer, you can rinse them in a bowl then move them with a magnet to an area to allow them to dry. The magnetic pins are not as corrosion resistant as the other media, they should not be stored in water for long periods, but removing, cleaning and drying the items between uses will make it last for a long time and the pins clean tiny crevices in my jewelry, always thoroughly wash new media prior to use to remove manufacturing dust and debris and any solvents that were used. I gave the product 4 stars because this information is not provided with the product as it should be. If consumers were properly informed, there would be far fewer negative reviews.

Great product to use for cleaning brass cartridges for reloading. I would also suggest getting some kind of brass cleaner to add to your Tumblr though to shine up the brass this stainless steel product alone will not shine the brass.

I can't afford a real jewelry tumbler so I bought this shot and put it in a plastic screw top bottle (like a peanut butter jar) with some water and dawn soap. Then I add my jewelry and just shake it up for an long as I can stand. Sometimes I just put it on the floor and let my dog roll it around. It work hardens my piece and gives it more polish and shine for a fraction of the price of a real tumbler. When I'm done I rinse and dry the shot immediately so it doesn't rust. Great stuff.

Whatever shine was on my silver jewelry was removed, the ‘pins’ have a sharp cut end that leaves a Matt finish. Would not polish a thing
