The process of vacuum cleaning requires flexibility to address floors, carpets, stairs and nook and crannies. This also demands a sturdy machine which takes the knocks.This is our second VAX Blade 4 which will share the load with the first one which over time, three years, has had a replacement battery and vacuum head.There is a wide range of price to pay but our research and choice has proven to be very economic.Easy to use, clean and empty with good battery reserve for our house so two, one of which is now out of guarantee, will be load sharing.VAX have been good at replacing parts.Recommendable and well worth considering. ?WHICH? gives interesting information.

Comparing this to my dying Dyson as i got this as its replacement:Pros:- the flexibility of the main hoover attachment tube is really helpful and makes hoovering much easier.-Comes with needed attachments which all work well for getting into tighter areas.-the light on the hoover head is most effective on hard floor as it reveals all the dirt you would have not noticed!-easy button to dispose the waste into bin. The Dyson had a pull action for this which was not sturdy.-so far the rollers are easy to clean, not too much hair builds up in them.Cons:-Suction power. Its okay and does job but I wish it was a little stronger.- when u you use the high power, the battery drops drastically which makes me unable to use for much time.Overall solid hoover and has better features over the Dyson. It just needed the extra power in suction.

Have been using a Vax Evolve Cordless upright cleaner for the last 3 years which served me well but performance dropped of in the last 6 months probably due to a worn brush bar which I tried to replace without success. Went with the Vax Blade 4 as I saw a lot of positive reviews on youtube and also because it used the same battery as the Evolve so I now have 2 I can make use of. The irritation lately with the Evolve is it refused to pick up cat litter scattered on my hard kitchen floor, the Blade 4 clears it completely with single sweeps and on the lower power setting which is impressive. It does a good job with carpet too, I thought I'd need the boost setting but that has such strong suction it makes the cleaner quite hard to move over the carpet, the lower setting allows easier movements and it cleans just as well. I like the way the head swivels to get into awkward places the Evolve couldn't. The only downside is the dust canister is very small so I'm getting into the habit of emptying it after every use, but it's not a problem as it detaches and empties easily.Really makes cleaning the stairs easy by removing the long wand and attaching the power head directly to the cleaner body. It's not self standing like the Evolve but the supplied wall stand keeps it neatly away when not in use as well as holding the 2 supplied tools. Considering when it first came out it cost almost £250, being able to buy one now for £135 is an absolute bargain as well as being a lot cheaper than the Evolve it has replaced. The LED light is a useful feature and certainly shows up any stray cat litter on the kitchen floor.Overall I'm very happy with the performance of this cleaner and at the price it's good value. It probably won't suit anyone with big carpeted rooms because of the small canister but it's just fine for me, definitely recommend it.

All my cleaners have been Vax, I have an old carpet washer and upright Cleaner and both are still going, what I like about the brand is that they're affordable and serviceable, this one is no exception, it's lite, easy to assemble, manoeuvre, suction is also very good and most of all it's portable. It's also very easy to empty even though the container isn't all that big, the filter can be removed and cleaned or even replaced like most other Vax, it comes with two other addons, crevice and dust brush tools, has good stability, Charging also doesn't take that long so it's ideal for your car..it also comes with a wall or door mounting kit..So if you're after a good portable vacuum cleaner that's affordable lite and with good suction, I would certainly recommend this one.

Really impressed with this Vax, very powerful but quiet and on carpets it drags you along as it is keen to vacuum everything in sight and with very bright LED's it doesn't want to miss a thing. It seems to pick up a lot more than my old stick vaccuum but it could be because it is newer with a newer brush but you can feel the suction seems much better. A couple of things to note. It does seem to take a long time to charge the battery but it does last a long time so they equal each other out. The other thing is that it being so good vaccuming it could have done with a bigger waste bin. That said it is so easy to empty it and more importantly to reinsert it, unlike my last one where you had to fight it ino the ground to get the thing on. Overall very impressed so impressed in fact that I have ordered another one to keep downstairs.
