Great light and LED is bright
Purchased this light to replace an old style flood motion light since I prefer not climbing a ladder anymore to replace bulbs. Very easy to install and it’s quite bright when activated. The instructions were clear and the settings simple. LED lights are so much easier to deal with.

Works great! I mean, like, really great!
I replaced an old unit that has been over the back door to our house for well over 30 years. New ones like this are much, much better! And cheaper! With so many adjustable modes! And way simpler to install as well! I'm going to buy another to replace the one on our garage--which is somewhat newer, but still not up to modern specs! Whoo-hoo! Let there be light! Edit: So I bought the second one and installed it up on the garage end wall over the doors--again, easy as pie to hook up electrically. Works brilliantly. We can now drive up and be all illuminated (physically only, of course), and walk to the house, and be lit up again. This light is bright and far-reaching. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Good but needs instructions edited
I read reviews and looked at pics here before buying this light. Like some other products I've read bad reviews about, I had a suspicion that most of the bad reviews arose from a misunderstanding of the adjustments. I think this is the case here because the product works fine --> provided you read and understand the adjustments <--. Let me "de-psyche" the descriptions of the settings, or put them in better English. The four positions of the switch first - Test: This simply lets you walk around in front of the motion detector and check alignment. It overrides all other settings so it works day or night for testing purposes. Don't leave it in this position after you are done adjusting the sensor head. Auto: The "main" setting most people would use this for. It will detect motion and turn the lights on for a set amount of time, but only when the light sensor detects it is dark outside. This trip point has to do with the "Lux" control. More on that below. On Time: This is a poorly labeled function. Call it "Lamp Mode". All it does is make the unit act like a simple lamp - On or Off according to the AC power supplied by the breaker or wall switch. It just acts like a simple ON/OFF light, nothing more. All the other settings don't apply. D2D: Makes it a dawn to dusk light. It does NOT detect motion in this mode - the motion sensor does not operate here. However, it does depend on the Lux adjustment to set the point where the unit detects "dusk" or "night". I will explain this below. The Three Adjustments Range: I'd rename this. It's a sensitivity adjustment. You must consider the sensitivity adjustment AND the angle it's pointing at together - both need to be considered for range. For example, if you point the sensor downward at an extreme angle then you do not want the range (sensitivity) turned up too high or it will be triggering on caterpillars. If you want to trigger on people walking at the far end of a driveway, then turn up the sensitivity. Let me add that the motion sensor is an IR (infrared) sensor. What it really senses is heat. If any areas of heat change (motion) from it's static state it will turn on the lights. Time: Sets how long the lights stay on after motion has been detected. From about 1 minute to 10 minutes. Simple. Lux: This seems to be the setting that confuses people because it has a tech label. Lux is the SI unit of illuminance, equal to one lumen per square meter. Does that help consumers adjust this? What should the control be labeled? One could call it "Dusk Set Point" for example. What the control does is set the point at which the unit senses it is "dusk" and at that point the light will operate in motion detection mode (or D2D mode depending on the other switch) all night until it gets light outside. At the point it gets brighter than "dusk" the light will stop working until night comes again. The two extremes on the control are 0 (zero) Lux and infinite Lux. The closer to zero the control is set, the darker it will have to be before the unit trips "on" and operates all night. The closer it is to infinity, the brighter it will be when the unit starts to work. When I say operates all night I mean it will operate either in the D2D (dusk to dawn) mode (basically just "On") or Auto mode (motion detection mode). This depends on the four position switch. I hope this helps people. I have included pics and one of them shows the settings I am using for motion detection. As I said, it works just fine provided you read and understand the settings and how they interact. It's a shame that companies that make decent products take chances with poorly written instructions. If they would just explain things in a more natural way they would be a lot better off.

Excellent security light, especially for smaller yards.
I'm very pleased with this light! I had installed a motion sensor light by a different manufacturer for my front yard, and so far been disappointed. Despite spending hours aiming and adjusting the sensor, it's twitchy and easily set off by windblown leaves, etc. So when selecting a light for the back I focused on the sensor, and liked that the Sansi uses an infrared type that picks up only motion by heat sources. Also, since I live in a townhouse with a tiny back yard I was looking for lower light output that won't disturb my neighbors. This 15 watt model is perfect. It was an easy, quick install with great instructions. It's quite bright enough to make any fence jumpers feel utterly exposed, but can be aimed to contain the light within the fenced area. And the sensor? I could not ask for better. After a full week, it's only triggered once where I couldn't determine the source. I love things that just work like they should. The only drawback is the plastic construction, but for $30 I'll be thrilled if it works a couple of years... and when it ultimately dies I'll buy another just like it.

Finally, some motion detection lights that actually work!
Finally, some motion detection lights that actually work! I bought three of these to light the deck and steps on my multilevel deck. Two were installed as new installations and one replaced an existing outdoor wall mounted light. I needed to mount the two new installation to light the face of the steps and avoid shadows on them for safety reasons. I had previously tried two JJC motion sensor lights from Amazon and neither one worked as they should. They both cycled on and off about every 5 minutes all night long. Not an efficient use of energy. I have also tried a few other brands for use in other locations and only one of those units worked as it should. All three of these Sansi lights work as I would expect them to and the fifteen watt LEDs of each unit is more than enough light. I have them set for the lowest time setting (manufacturer stated as one minute) and they stay on for about 40 seconds actual, which is fine with me as they don't need to be on when no one is in the area. Note that the screws provided to attach the mounting bracket to the box were too small (diameter) for the standard American outdoor weatherproof box. Two of the right sized screws came with each box I had purchased so not a big deal, though I did have to file out the sides of the slots in the mounting bracket to accommodate the larger screws. I think the correct size is the next size up from what was provided. Sansi should include the correct size screws for the standard American box in addition to what they currently provide and widen their bracket slots slightly for the larger diameter screws. Despite the screw and slot issues, I would still recommend these over other similarly priced units that I have tried, as these actually work!

No motion for me!
Things haven’t been quite as easy as I thought they would be. I finally got around to installing them last night, and the only good news is that the installation was super smooth. Everything seems to work in terms of the lights turning on, but the motion-activated sensors on both aren’t working. After it got dark, I tested them, and neither light worked, and I have a light on both corners in the back of the house. I can manually make the lights turn on, but I can’t make them turn on from the motion activation. I give it one star for installation and brightness, but no other stars will be given until I get them to work as advertised and as expected.

Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo
Ottimo prodotto, piccola pecca per il sensore che non è molto efficace anche se sul livello Max. Luce perfetta.

Very pleased.
Small but surprisingly bright! Unlike so many newer lights you can adjust the range and sensitivity. I do not have the problems with false activation that I had with my previous light. This location and flexibility of the sensor was a selling point. This is mounted 10' up near a side gate. I was able to get the angle I needed to have the light come on when someone approached from the front or side but not have the dog set it off every time he approached the fence from the yard. Setup was simple. It survived a hail storm so it's durable. The hardware is decent. The price was fair. What's not to like?!
