This is the “just right” Swiss Army Knife for “us”!
The Swiss Army knife “you” should own. If you want a pocket knife that will be useful every day and slip into any pocket without being in the way, this is the one. It weighs nothing but has the most important tools for everyday issues. The scissors are large enough to cut tags off clothes, trim fingernails and hangnails, the corkscrew will open wine bottles and untie knots that are super stuck, it has a pen and a bottle opener. It’s a perfectly sized knife until you need a big one. Comes with an eyeglass screwdriver, a straight pin and even a small nail file. You can tighten loose screws with the cap lifter/can opener and the tweezers can be very handy, especially for splinter removal. If you need more than this in your pocket, Victorinox makes many other Swiss Army knives, they just weigh more and get bigger or thicker. Or consider an actual multi tool with pliers like the many offerings from Leatherman, or the very nice Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit X. (Actually the nicest multi tool I own) And remember this makes a great gift for the man who has everything, the price is right especially considering that high quality and great looks

Arguably the best SAK tool set for everyday carry
YouTubers rave about the Compact, and I've always resisted purchasing one so I wouldn't feel like I'm blindly following the advice of EDC influencers. Well, I gifted one to my mom 2 years ago for Christmas and she loves it. I finally got tired of missing some features on my Climber and Pioneer X, so I finally bought the Compact when it was on sale last year and haven't looked back. It is the best Victorinox SAK for daily pocket carry. It has the tools you want and eliminates some of the crap you never use on wider SAKs. Best of all, it is slim and lightweight. It is noticeably lighter than the 3- and 4-layer SAKs I am used to. I really appreciate eliminating the redundancy of the can opener and bottle opener by combining them into one tool. Has anyone used the can opener in the last 10 years? Waste of space. No wood saw or small pen blade either. That allows 3 main tools overlapping in 2 layers. The reverse nail nick on the scissors is annoying compared to the traditional placement on the Climber, but it is much easier to access than the reverse nail nick on the Pioneer X. It also improves upon the secondary tools by adding 2 things in the same tool set. The useless parcel hook is still included, but at least they add a diamond file to the spine. Why don't they do this for every parcel hook? They also include the micro driver in the corkscrew, which is something you have to buy separately for most SAKs. I don't understand the choices by Victorinox sometimes. These are things that should be included with every hook and corkscrew. The ballpoint pen is fine. I carry a nice pen daily so it's not something I've ever needed on my SAK. I tried it out, and it'll work in a pinch. Don't expect to write a letter with it though. For anyone on the fence whether they should get a Compact because they already own an SAK. Trust me, it's worth the upgrade if you want to slim down your EDC.

One of the absolute best tools, hands-down.
I could not believe that I actually got one of these for less than 50 or $60 which is where this model typically sits. Based on the photo I did not think that it would come with the little screwdriver, but it did. This is my third of the Victorian Knox compact and it’s one of my absolute favorites for just every day carry. Now I love a Leatherman as much as the Next guy or My larger Victorian Knox player multitool, but there are times where you don’t need or don’t want to carry such a large tool. This has your bare basics, your knife, the fantastic scissors which no other tool to this day in my opinion can still be And your basic flathead bottle opener, and all that jazz. It fits perfectly in your hand. It’s not an oversized tool, but it’s not so small. You’re gonna lose it like the tiny little keychain size ones the classic this is a great every day carry tool that for 99% of people will be able to do most things that you need to do. I personally could care less about the toothpick, but having the tweezers has come in handy many times and it’s also a very non-threatening knife you pull this thing out and no one bats and I at you because everybody knows what a Swiss Army knife is the quality is excellent as usual from Victoria Knox if you can get it for 39 or 40 bucks like I did pick one or two of them up, they’re just that good.

Perfect light EDC multitool!
Great EDC knife, you cannot beat a swiss army knife on sharpness out of the box and ease of sharpening. Slip joint knifes are great easy to use knifes too. I ended up epoxying a deep carry clip on mine, which to me makes it incredible more versatile and compatible for what I need. Swiss army knives have stood the test of time so durability in never in question. I love this knife and is a constant companion with the clip on there now.

Perfect carry if you don't want to carry a folding knife and smaller Victorinox
My daily carry is always the Victorinox Rambler, a folding knife, and Space Fisher pen. Sometimes, I don't want to carry all three so I decided to get the Compact. It has everything I need and it is well made as expected from Victorinox. It's thinner than the Camper but thicker than the Cadet. I don't need a saw for daily carry and the Cadet doesn't have the tooth pick, tweezers, and scissors. Compact offers all that in such a nice package with the tools that work great, especially the scissors. It sits in the bottom of the front pocket with minimal printing or taking up space. Love it!

Red Visage…
That is the ideal EDC tool for my use case. One sharp knife blade, scissors, hook (I use this to carry packages or shopping bags - it really works), pen (soooooo useful to always have a pen), tiny pin (look for it, and pull it out as a parlor trick - other than that, its entirely useless), tweezers (I’ve used tweezers 6 times in my life, all before the age of 20 (I’m 57), toothpick (its embarrassingly useful), the corkscrew holds a tiny screw driver which is useful for tightening the fake sunglasses of dolls. This tool is very compact with only two layers, and its familiar red visage is unintimidating when you unfold scissors to clip your toenails on a park bench in early summer.

The absolute best EDC knife for a reason
I have had at least 3 dozen knives over the years, but the Compact was my first EDC knife. Some years ago, on a trip to Japan, I lost it. In the years since, I tried to replace it with a SAK Climber with plus scales, but I missed the Compact. You wouldn’t think a couple of extra mm mattered, but it really did. As a result, I bought another recently, and perhaps to my delight, I paid less than what I paid for it originally! What folks don't tell you about the Compact is that the key ring placement is unusual. As a result, none of the pocket clip solutions that you see available for Swiss Army Knives will work with the Compact. Some will balk at the fact that the Compact is more expensive than other knives, but what they don't know is that the Compact is one of the very few knives that is still hand-assembled, and as a result, it carries a premium in the Swiss Army lineup. On paper, the most glaring issue with the Compact is the lack of a Phillips, but in practice, the combination tool is an excellent stand-in and can tackle most emergency situations that call for one. The Compact is especially well-suited for a tool when you're outside of the house because ostensibly, if you happen to be inside the house, it might be fine to carry a heavier knife or multi-tool. While you could carry a smaller keychain tool, you lose out on the larger-size tools that the Compact provides. It is the perfect balance of feature and function that has made it impossible to beat.

Great knife
I really love this knife - great mix of small size yet still having a large enough knife and scissors to be useful. The pen and the pin are pretty nice additions too.
