Excellent Quality for Baking and Beverages
I bought this matcha powder for my husband, who loves making matcha lattes and using it in baking, and it has quickly become a staple in our kitchen. The quality is exceptional — the vibrant green color shows just how fresh and pure it is. It has a fine, smooth texture that makes it easy to work with and mix into drinks or recipes. In terms of functionality, it performs perfectly for a variety of uses. The flavor is rich and smooth with a slightly sweet, earthy undertone that isn’t too bitter — a common issue we’ve found with other matcha powders. It blends effortlessly into both hot and cold beverages, making it ideal for lattes, iced drinks, and smoothies. The powder dissolves completely without clumping, which makes preparation quick and easy, especially for someone who enjoys making a matcha latte every morning. We’ve also experimented with using it in baking, and the flavor holds up beautifully in cakes, cookies, and even energy balls. It adds an authentic matcha flavor without overpowering the other ingredients, providing just the right balance. The functionality of this powder extends beyond just drinks — it’s great for anyone who loves incorporating matcha into a variety of recipes. The powder itself is finely ground, ensuring it mixes seamlessly, and a little goes a long way. Its quality and versatility make it perfect for all our cooking and drink-making needs, and it’s priced well for the value you get. Overall, this matcha powder exceeds our expectations in both quality and functionality. It’s versatile, high-quality, and adds a wonderful flavor to anything it’s used in. If you enjoy matcha in your daily routine or like to bake with it, I highly recommend this product.

Delicious, versatile, healthy, and ENERGIZING!
Let me start by saying that I'm a bit of a tea snob. I've traveled around Asia and tried dozens of local and traditional teas there. I've also tried countless qualities of teas (Teavana, homemade, etc.) and middle-grade, supermarket-brand teas. I drink iced tea, black tea, hibiscus tea, mint tea, peppermint tea, etc., etc., etc. Out of all of the tea I've tried in my life, this is by far one of the most versatile, health-beneficial, and energizing teas I've ever drank. While this isn't the most delicious tea when drank on its own (its still yummy but needs a hint of sweetness to cut the slight bitterness), it's still very enjoyable. I prepare mine with an electric mixer and I LOVE how light and frothy it gets. Add in a splash of milk and a dollop of honey, and it makes an awesome latte. I can't wait to try it in recipes (i.e. protein shakes and baked goods) and in other drink forms. As a fair warning, though, it has a very earthy, grassy taste, so the taste, albeit smooth and light, may not be for everyone, especially when trying it the first time. Give it a few tries though--it'll grow on you! My favorite part about this tea is that it's almost immediately energizing after just one serving. It's an uplifting, steady kind of energy--not the "jittery" energy you get from drinking a lot of coffee. I feel more clear-minded and focused, and my mood perks up. I got my family hooked on this stuff, too, just for the energy and mood boost. It's just a great way for us to start the day. :) Combine this with all of the other healthand weight loss benefits matcha offers in the long-term, and you've got a drink that's worth drinking just for its energizing and health qualities alone. Another fair warning though: do NOT drink this at night if you plan on going to bed. I drank some at 2 pm and I couldn't fall asleep until 1 am. A few other important qualities of this particular tea: it's made in Kyoto, Japan, has been tested for radiation (there is not detectable levels), and is certified USDA organic. In conclusion, TRY THIS TEA. :) I highly recommend it.

Smooth, Vibrant Matcha With a Premium Taste
This matcha powder has a bright color and smooth texture that makes it perfect for lattes, baking, or adding to smoothies. It blends easily without clumping and has a clean, earthy flavor that is not too bitter. The aroma and freshness stand out compared to cheaper brands, which makes it feel like a higher quality product. I have enjoyed using it for both drinks and desserts, and it always gives a nice, rich green color. The only downside is the price, which is higher than I would prefer for a culinary grade matcha. It tastes great, but the cost makes it more of a treat than an everyday item. Overall, it is excellent matcha if you do not mind paying a bit extra for quality. Pros: Smooth and vibrant with a fresh, clean flavor Mixes easily with no clumping Great for lattes, baking, or smoothies Beautiful bright green color Cons: Price is on the higher side for a culinary grade matcha

Excellent quality Matcha and a great value!
This is the Green Tea we've been looking for! I've known about the benefits of Green Tea for many years but I had never heard of Matcha. A delicious and versatile emerald green superfood! It looks just like it does in the pictures. One of nature's finest. Here's to our health! The customer service from this company is also worth mentioning. eco heed stands by their product and follows through with their orders. I already had no reason to buy elsewhere granted the high quality and low price, but the customer service took the buying experience over the top! The recipe book sent by email is attractive and provides different ideas to enjoy Matcha. While I used to love the green tea lattes at Starbucks when they were on the menu, I'm too health conscious these days to buy such drinks. Now I can make healthier ones myself and still enjoy the amazing flavor. For people who like green vegetables this will probably be the best cup of tea they ever had. For people who don't like vegetables this would be a quick and easy (and sweetened) way to consume some of what they've been missing. This makes most other Green Teas on the market taste like water. Matcha is the Samurai of Catechins! The 3.5 oz bag is zip lock, but it also fills an 8-oz Ball jelly/canning jar to the rim and I prefer this way to store it in the fridge. Thanks again eco heed, we'll be back for more! Edit: Just tried the Blueberry, Pomegranate, Matcha slushy from the recipe book. We sweetened it with organic beehive honey. Tasted amazing and so powerful! Like a green, blue and red antioxidant bomb.

My new top favorite!
I’ve been drinking matcha for at least half a decade, regularly, and was first introduced to it during a Japanese tea ceremony I attended in the early 1990’s. This Matcha Wellness matcha is my new favorite! Though it’s a bit more expensive than most culinary grade matchas available online, it is far superior to the other ones I’ve tried. It does not exaggerate when describing itself as the “superior culinary” matcha. I appreciate that it doesn’t make false claims like some other matchas that claim to be ceremonial grade but are poor quality. Matcha Wellness Is a light vibrant green, it smells pleasant like a subtly fragrant tea (not stale), it dissolves very easily, it stays a nice green color even when dissolved, and has NO bitterness. In fact, I don’t know what basis of comparison one reviewer was using when calling this bitter. I normally add honey to my matcha latte that i I make with added organic ginger powder and minuscule amount of organic cardamom powder and milk. Today, I forgot to add the honey, which usually makes the drink unpleasantly bitter with other matchas that I’ve tried before. There was no bitterness, so I could drink the latte without adding the honey! I’m out of the other brands of matcha that i have preferred in the past, which is why I decided to try this one, so I’m not able to show comparative photos at this time, but I can tell you that this Matcha is along the lines of the best that I’ve tasted, including in Japan and Korea. For those who perceive any bitterness, user a smaller dose than the half teaspoon recommended. I found that I prefer about a teaspoon of this Matcha for a moderate sized mug of matcha latte. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Matcha! I just wish that they made a larger size available. By the way, matchas is excellent nutrition for your eyes (lenses and retina), among other benefits. I am saying this as an ophthalmologist.

Underwhelming
I am pretty new to the matcha game and only put it in smoothies and lattes, so I stick to "culinary grade". I have been searching for a good culinary grade matcha that is reasonably priced because I use it quite a bit. I've bought 4 different ones from Amazon, and this is how I rank them, from worst to best: 4. Matcha Outlet: https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Japanese-Matcha-Ryori-Powder/dp/B08NXRP67J/ref=sr_1_136?dchild=1&keywords=matcha&qid=1626028637&sr=8-136 Pretty bad. A ton of matcha for super cheap though. $1.83/oz. 3. Matcha Wellness (this product). Brownish/yellowish and does not dissolve well. $6.57/oz. 2. Ito En: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K9PJ4LB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details Clearly superior to the Matcha Wellness. Darker, richer green color and easier to dissolve. $5/oz. 1. Aprika Life: https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Japanese-Matcha-Green-Powder/dp/B07DJ1KVDP/ref=sr_1_26?dchild=1&keywords=matcha&qid=1626028556&sr=8-26 Good quality stuff for a good price. Rich dark green color, very easily dissolved, delicious taste (in lattes, at least). $6.43/oz. If you want a good culinary grade matcha, stick with either Aprika Life or Ito En—both are cheaper than this product (Matcha Wellness) and definitely better quality.

The Sweet Spot - High Quality at a Good Price
I’d like to leave an unbiased review - I never received anything from the company to write this. I came across Eco after researching over a dozen brands. I also bought a few mistakes along the way. Hopefully I can help others with my experience. Many of the reviews here are spot on. This superior grade culinary matcha is so much brighter and greener than other culinary matchas. It’s delicious in a latte or smoothie and doesn’t have that bitterness and foulness I’ve tasted in the others. In my experience, (and not an expert, just a guy with several nearly full bags of other matcha sitting around the house that I refuse to drink because of their taste) those tend to be brownish green in color and have these unpleasant overtones. I wouldn’t even bake with them. I actually grounded my own matcha out of desperation once using regular tea leaves (sencha) and that result was also a dull brownish green powder. So I think a lot of these top sellers on Amazon are not actually selling matcha. The Eco product, however, is much more vibrant. It is not as grassy and rich as the ceremonial grade matcha that I’ve enjoyed but it’s by far the best culinary matcha I’ve tasted. I just came back to buy Eco’s larger size only to see that it’s sold out, so I’m pissed. :-) Please don’t change this product! Great quality to price ratio.
