Excellent EQ base for Seestar S50
Great build quality and decently priced EQ base for smaller scopes. I used this specifically for the Seestar S50 when it released an EQ mode, and it has worked perfectly! However, if using this for the Seestar S50, a couple minor and easy modifications may need to be added to this base. The changes I made included at least a M8 x 20mm sized hand knob to replace the knob to tighten the dovetail slot, otherwise it will be in the way of the Seestar. Also, something to elevate the Seestar so the knob has a bit more room. The Sky Watcher includes a small dovetail plate that can elevate the Seestar, but a screw on it that helps prevent the plate from sliding off is in the way of the Seestar's rotating base. For this, you can try to loosen the screw, otherwise opt for the Sky Watcher Star Adventurer Ball Head adapter which I've been using, or if you have one, you can use a camera leveling base on the included dovetail.

Works well with the Seestar S50 in EQ mode
I am using this wedge under my Seestar S50. I had to get a longer dovetail bar and mount it to the S50 with a 3D printed washer. The libger dovetail bar allows you to recenter the weight directly over the center of the tripod, not leaning way out. Works well for this.

Good, portable equatorial mount for planetary, lunar, and visually findable objects
Good basic equatorial mount to put under your regular adjustable alt/az tripod head and optics to reduce/eliminate drift from sky's rotation at your latitude. Very good solution for lunar, planetary, and visually findable objects.I have a 90mm x 1000mm catadioptric with a light SLR that I put on this Skywatcher mount. I did not like the motorized mount I had tried and wanted something I could quickly, manually align to my desired object and track using just one axis for right ascensio instead of pushing a whole bunch of buttons and waiting. Plus no plug-in or batteries required.First mount the Skywatcher EQ Latitude base on a firm tripod. If you are using a camera tripod, you will need to remove the head from the tripod first so that the mounting bolt is exposed. Note that the Skywatcher requires a larger bolt to mount than an SLR camera does. It's one step up in size, so you may need a converter, like I did, to step up the thread size on your now-headless tripod.Once mounted, look up your latitude with a GPS device/app or an internet search of where your town is. Set the tilt on the Skywatcher to that # of degrees. Then use a compass/app and point the top of the tilted column to north. Add an Alt/Az (2-axis, left-right/up-down) tripod head to the top of the Skywatcher. Then put your scope or camera on the tripod head. For the best tracking results, get the North Star centered in your scope with the closest you can get to the correct latitude on the Skywatcher. But you can get useful results with a "close enough" setting for latitude and a good setting to true north with your GPS/app.Now you can quickly find objects, lock them in for declination and rotate your scope or camera using the left/right axis as right ascension to keep on the object as it moves (or as we move underneath it.)Nice basic solution for planetary, lunar, and visually findable objects. Skycharts can help you with finding more obscure stuff.

Perfect to Use with a Seestar or Dwarf Smart Telescope
First, let me say this is a great product! I have bought two of them so far. I use it to mount my Seestar and Dwarf telescopes in EQ orientation. IT COMES WITH THE SADDLE DOVETAIL so you'll be ready to go as soon as you get it (the Dwarf has a smaller hole in the bottom so you'll need a 1/4 -> 3/8 adaptor). It is very sturdy and a perfect match for the Sky Watcher Star Adventurer tripod. The adjustment knobs are easy to use for fast polar alignment. If you're on the fence about buying this, just do it. You won't regret it.

EQ mount made easy
I was having difficult time getting polar aligned until I bought this

Adjustable camera base.
I purchased this to use with my Seestar S50 Smart Telescope. The scope now has an equatorial mode that requires a base that you can tilt to align the scope's axis of rotation with the Earth's axis of rotation. Unfortunately, the device has a knob for the dovetail that interferes with the telescope. I had to purchase an M8-1.25 x40 mm thumb screw to give the scope the freedom to rotate.

Price-weight-rigidity compromise.
I used this wedge for about two years, and I've just recently purchased a William Optics wedge to compare it to. The WO is more expensive, but far more stable than this one. For <50mm lenses the Sky Watcher wedge will work great. For ~200mm, this wedge is too sloppy and has too much flexure. The SkyWatcher wedge is frustrating in two important ways: there's a ton of slop in the screws, and there's a plastic piece that failed on me in the field. If you get this, and plan on using >100mm lenses, I recommend: 1) disassembling it, degreasing it, then using a thick, sticky machine grease on the worm gear that drives the altitude. 2) Wrap the azimuth adjusters in teflon tape. That will reduce some slop, making alignment easier. 3) Get two thumbscrews to replace the button head screws, so you can tighten down the az plate in the field after alignment without an Allen key. 6) Replace the altitude clutch with an m6 70mm hex bolt and wing nut. Under the stock alt clutch is a plastic gear holding the alt tightener. This plastic gear sheared off while I was trying to image one night. Maybe I was over tightening it, but there was so much residual play in the alt that it was hard not to. Replacing this with a metal wingnut helps the play, but doesn't eliminate it.

Excelente producto
Excelente producto.

Ottimo
Preso x convertire un Seestar S50 in modalità equatoriale...direi perfetto. È stabile e non ha giochi. Attenzione!!!. La vite di serraggio per la coda di rondine compresa di manopola deve essere sostituita con un semplice bullone a brugola altrimenti non è possibile montare il Seestar
