Looking at the past reviews, I kinda thought I’d be taking a gamble on whether or not the chalk would arrive broken. However they must have drastically changed the way it ships because if you see my picture each piece was encased in foam in the box, and the box was in bubble wrap. Nothing was broken. Writes super smooth on my slate chalkboard and erases very well too. Colors pop out super bright. I have nothing but good things to say about this chalk. Will definitely buy again when I’m running low. My local dollar store and Walmart both did not have chalk when I was looking for it so ordering this was worth it for me to save on the time it took me to look for a product that wasn’t even there.

Did a stint teaching again, and the classroom had an old chalkboard. The chalk supplied was al broken, hard and scratchy. This set of chalk is really good. Nice and smooth, and erases easily. No complaints.

Works well and stays put

I really enjoyed using these chalks. My blackboard is a quick-made from chalkboard paint, for a quick chalkboard. The chalks worked wonderfully. They need to be slightly primed before using (just rub on a piece of paper for a couple strokes) and away you go! For fine details, I like a sharp point on my chalk and these sharpened perfectly... no tips in the sharpener! I sometimes push down hard and these did not break under pressure. I highly recommend these chalks. If you have a smooth board, I really suggest you "prime" rub the new piece of chalk on a piece of paper or emery board, first. If you have a NEW BOARD, you MUST prime the board first, as well. Simply rub the side of a piece of white chalk, all over the board, wait a minute or two, then wipe off the chalk. You will have a nice thin layer of chalk to assist the stick of chalk adhere, when using. ALSO, that layer of chalk can be used as enhancements, when rubbed with an eraser (see the work fresh, on my board). That's a free, professional trick! So don't believe the negative fb comments. I am sure they've learned how to use chalk, by now!

These are strong and they write smoothly and there is no dust from them when writing and I think these are after for my child when he uses them to write or draw on the chalk board

Not only is this chalk great, but it comes in the best packaging ever! Each piece is in it's own slot; nothing was broken. BRAVO!

Perfect low-dust chalk for spouse and i to leave each other notes. We painted the inside of kitchen cabinet doors with 3 coats of blackboard paint (which, btw works great as long as you *follow the application instructions exactly* lol, but that's a different review!).

For the most part it worked as it should. There were a couple of the colored chalks that actually didnt work at all, as crazy as that sounds, and im not sure how to explain it When id try to write/draw with some of them, nothing showed up. It was almost like they were hard or maybe waxy, I cant describe it. It was a little disappointing because I was looking forward to having a variety of colors that the typical box of chalk doesnt have, but when 2 or 3 of those colors cant be used, its pointless. I can get chalk at dollar tree for $1.25 that also has a box of colors and a box of white, just a smaller variety of colors, but at least they all work. I tried breaking the end off, thinking maybe it was just the ends, but it didnt work no matter where I broke it off at. The ones that did work, work fine just like chalk should. I wouldn't buy again though.
