API FILSTAR XP MICROFILTRATION Aquarium Canister Filter Filtration Pads 3-Count, FILSTAR MICRO FILTRATION PADS, Whites & Tans

Very good micro-filter. These white filters are pitched then replaced at each cleaning. I do not rinse and reuse, as I do with sponge filters. They do a good job in the filter system of keeping the water clear. I use several different filters in the canister, and each filter performs a task in keeping the water clear. I tear down the tank and canister every two months. The canister and filters are filthy by then, but the water in the tank still looks decent.

I'm going to copy this review for several of their products, since they all work together and I'm equally pleased with all of them. I use these filters with a filstar xp3 filter to keep an approximately 100 gallon pond clean. There are 5 turtles, lots of fish (since the turtles would rather not work for their food), a rather large plecostomus and the occasional frog in the pond. With some assistance from the plecostomus, I've never had an issue keeping the water clear; even in the summer when I have to add water to it at least every other day. I use the ammonia remove pouch, carbon pouch, bio chem-zorb pouch, bio chem-stars and the 20 and 30 ppi filters. Anything that can handle that many turtles definitely deserves 5 stars.

These work very well for filtration in my aquarium. There is no odor and they hold up well.

I got this to go on top of the eshopps sponge I use in my biocube 14 as another layer of filtration. Being that it is white you really can see how much it filters out, however utilized as a microfiltration I think there are better products out there potentially. I have been using these my Filstar XP3 canister filter for years. I wash and re-use most of the media, except for these pads, which I completely replace. They usually last about 2 months. After completing maintenance on my filter and replacing with these pads, the water seems to be remarkably clearer. They seem to be scrubbing the water well. I have used both these "super" micro filtration pads and the plain white pads, and these seem to be better, but don't last as long. I guess they clog faster.

These are high grade quality filter pads for your canister filter on your aquarium. I have used API products in my filters for a long time and have always been pleased with the quality. When used as directed and used together with other API canister filter products such as API Super Activated Carbon Pouch Size 6 and API Bio-Chem Zorb Filter Media Pouch Size 6 as I have, it will produce crystal clear (literally the clearest water in any aquarium, when used as directed in a proper size canister filter for your size aquarium) tank water, and will increase the health and quality of life for your fish. Aquarium Pharmaceuticals is one of the highest quality aquarium filtration products I can recommend.
