A life saver
Hospital tanks are sometimes a death trap because water cycle goes out of whack real fast. But this actually quickly gets rid of / prevents ammonia quick so the fish is not bothered while already sick and weakened

Works quickly
I have a 2 gallon tank with a Betta and snail. Some plants and a strong enough filter. I don’t think I over feed and clean up leftovers before turning the filter back on. I removed any dead or rotting plant pieces and did a partial water change. I used non chlorinated tap water. The next day the ammonia levels on detector were worse. I swapped out a little bit more water and expected a change. Nothing! I ordered this product it came next day. I was so concerned because directions are for a ratio of a ten gallon tank. My brain does not work well first thing in the morning and I was not going to start mixing up 10 gallons of water either. If you’re in the same boat, fear not. I’ve got you covered. I have included in pictures that the cap has measurements for 1,5 and 10 milliliters.1ml. of solution per 2 gallons of water, 5ml. Solution per 10 gallons of water and10ml. Solution per 20 gallons of water. Basically whatever gallons your tank is, divide in half and that number is the amount of ml. needed. Ammonia levels were reduced in minutes.

Kept all my fish alive!
The media could not be loaded. I’m a new fish keeper and made the mistake of thinking my tank was cycled when it wasn’t. When I added my first fish (a month after set up) my ammonia levels went above the maximum level on the testing strip. The test water was dark blue almost black!I used this as directed. At one point I had a bad bacteria bloom and couldn’t even see my fish, but kept testing and using as directed, along with daily 10-20% water changes. The water cleared up within a week. Cloudiness is the good bacteria putting up a fight. Gross, but not harmful if your water is oxygenated enough. No matter what happened with the water, my fish were active and happy and kept good color. After three weeks, my good bacteria has taken over and no more ammonia. I’m honestly shocked nobody died with the mistake I made in cycling the tank and I think ammolock is why.I have oto cats, Serpae tetras, phantom tetras and sword tails in a 40 gallon planted tank.

Dont read the bad reviews. Read this.
Most of the bad reviews here clearly are not educated in aquariums based on the incorrect assumptions. This stuff like all ammonia locking products will not solve your ammonia problem. It is only for making high ammonia levels non-toxic to fish for 24-48 hours. It will save your fish from dieing from ammonia. Only a small amount of ammonia will kill fish within a couple days.Unless you change your water and remove the ammonia you will continue to read high ammonia until your beneficial bacteria grow and start consuming it. This cant happen unless the ammonia spikes first which is why you willkill fish if starting a new tank. This is for when you are cycling your tank with fish in it. Ammonia will go high during this process and this stuff will put the ammonia in jail for 24-48 hours. You have to keep dosing to keep the ammonia non-toxic. You only stop using this when your ammonia levels drop naturally. It will not correct anything. If your ammonia levels drop it is not due to this stuff. It is because your bacteria has grown enough to eat the ammonia as fast as its made.I know this works because if i did not treat my tank and left fish in there they would be dieing. Only the most hardy fish can suffer through the ammonia spike during this process. Most will die.

This solved my amonia problem
I have had my freshwater tank since 2018 and never had an ammonia problem like this before. For about 3 months I've tried everything. I guess the ammonia problem was caused because I increased fish, but I have no idea because I have a 100 gallon external filter on my 20 gallon tank. Anyway, the problem was persistent ammonia even after a 25 or 50 % water change it would creep back up in 1 day. I tried adding media specific for ammonia and nothing helped, for weeks, and monthsDesperate to solve this, I bought Ammo Lock because I was leaving town for a week. Immediately my ammonia test results went from green to yellow. I also put in a 1 year ammonia meter and it is indicating yellow as well. Typically, I change the water weekly, and I will include this in my routine from now on. Nothing else was making the ammonia manageable before this. Highly recommend.

Dramatically reduced ammonia
I was having awful ammonia problems in my tank, despite it A) not being overstocked B) not overfeeding C) no dying plants. I was doing daily water changes (45%) and the ammonia was still building up. Even after replacing the filter (the filter did need replacing) the ammonia was still building up though not as fast as before. For a tank that I've had set up for two months now, it was really frustrating how it wouldn't cycle properly. What I did was change the water, then put in the ammo lock along with two other API products, stress coat+ and quick start. I think it helps to use ammo lock with other API products, since they do make their products "work together". Anyway, I did this once a day, every day for 4 days. On day four ammonia was at 0ppm.You can't just put ammo lock in and forget about it though. Ammonia builds upon ammonia, so you still have to do water changes to get it all out of the tank. Having the nitrifying bacteria helps to make the conversion of remaining ammonia to nitrate more manageable for the tank.

Great product.
Very good value for money, especially at bait fish prices today. Water quality went from very bad to great overnight. Stopped the losses immediately. Thank you so very much for this super awesome product.
