These are much better than the original fiberglass poles that came with my tent and cracked while setting it up. Light, sturdy and no connectors on the outside of the sections to hang up on the fabric when putting up the tent. So nice that when it was time to replace the tent, I kept these and use them with my new tent instead of the poles that came with it.

We have a tent that (I guess) has non-standard sized fiberglass poles. They work great, but one of them broke.The tent is from Aldi, so I didn't know where to look for such specific replacement parts.I measured and searched for replacement kits online and couldn't find anything perfect, so due to price and seemingly the closets sizes I could get to the existing tent, I grabbed these.I am not super-outdoorsy, but I can figure stuff out. These weren't the exact same size as what I needed and don't work the same way as the existing poles, so I could not just replace parts. I instead used the full pole and everything worked fine.When you first see the aluminum, you think "there is not way I am gonna make this bend without breaking." But in the end, they were designed to do this, so they worked fine.On the Aldi tent, the poles have female ends that attach to male 'plugs' and though my diameter size was not perfect, these still fit fine.

These are OK. Assembly is quick and easy, although having to tie a knot in the end of the cord to secure to to the ends of the pole-assembly is problematic. It leaves a lump of cord-knotting at the end, and if you need to thread the pole through any sort of fabric loop, it is problematic. It would be better if the manufacturer came up with a better solution to tying off the cord. Like some other buyers, I also use these for a tent fly sun-shade at the beach. The arch of the bend is not very tight (see pictures), but after a day of use I find that the sections at the apex of the arch are difficult to separate (and sometimes almost impossible to separate). Taking a closer look at the problem, it seems that the metal ends of each pole section are made of a metal that deforms a bit to much for this sort of use. To get the pole sections to separate I have had to bend the poles back slightly until the socket ends go back to a rounder shape, and then the sections can be pulled apart (not easily though). I have only used the poles 5 or 6 times now and I am bit worried that with continued deformation and then having to re-bend the pole sockets, that the pole sockets may fail prematurely. It's too bad because otherwise these are a decent enough pole set.

Not for bending or flexing at all! These are tube steel. be careful of the good reviews with pics showing it flexed or bent.
