I needed to cut a small dollar store mirror to use in an art project so I got this glass cutter. I had never cut glass before so I was a little scared it would be difficult. I followed to directions included and it work perfectly. I was kind of surprised how easy it was and how well it worked.

This glass cutter works perfect for windows for houses. No issues and works easily with good results.

Should be made to allow for adjustments to be made in much less time than it actually takes... You loosen an adjustment screw it should be just a partial turn with a screw driver and then allow you slide to the needed adjusted slot, but NO you have to literally take all 4 screws and nuts that are on the underside and reinsert them in your desired notch. Very time consuming to make adjustments to accommodate the different size bottles to allow it to work acceptably. But once you do all that, it does do the job and will score the glass in a perfect circle with no movement if you keep it steady with your hand while turning it.

It does a good job. Ive cut several wine bottles & one whiskey bottle. The bottles are not all made an even width. That's the only problem I've had.

Clearly a quality product. For an old man experiencing price shock, I buy everything. It was nice receiving a quality precision tool for a reasonable price. And that wonderful feeling of getting what you paid for.

⭐☆☆☆☆ — Terrible Design for Real-World Use I’m a general contractor and work with tools and adjustable equipment constantly. My next-door neighbor runs the maintenance department at a local university and is also a former contractor. Between the two of us, we’ve adjusted and operated just about everything imaginable. This bottle cutter has one of the worst adjustment systems I’ve ever seen. The Amazon description makes it sound “adjustable and easy to use,” but that is absolutely not the reality. Every time you change bottle sizes, nearly the entire machine has to be partially disassembled and reassembled. The problem is the slotted adjustment tracks. They use oversized teeth that prevent the screws from simply sliding through the slots like a normal adjustable tool would. Instead, for EACH adjustment point, you have to: completely remove the screws catch the loose nuts from falling off reposition the wheel assembly guess where it needs to go reinstall everything tighten it back down test the bottle then repeat the entire process again if alignment is off There are SIX separate adjustment points. Changing from one bottle size to another means starting this process all over again. There is no quick adjustment system, no smooth sliding mechanism, and no practical repeatability. A properly designed tool would allow the wheels to slide and lock into place quickly. This does not. The actual materials look decent at first glance, but the engineering and usability are unbelievably poor. It feels like nobody who designed this ever actually used it. After about 3–4 minutes of trying to set it up, my neighbor looked at it and said, “This is the worst piece of crap I’ve ever seen. Send it back.” That’s exactly what I’m doing. Would not recommend.

This product is supposed to score bottles so you can then use hot and cold water to easily take apart. It fails in its one and only task. Unless your bottle is perfectly straight it is impossible to get a straight cut. It’s not worth a £1. Don’t do it.

Nachdem ich mich jahrelang mit Behelfsmitteln wie Stahlnägeln oder Glasscheren-Tricks (tw. sogar mühsam unter Wasser) herumgeschlagen habe, wollte ich es nun genauer wissen und habe mir dieses Set von Camdios zugelegt. Ja, ich weiß: Die paar Mal wo man so ein Teil als Bastler braucht sind wirklich überschaubar, aber der Preis hat mich dann doch für einen Versuch überzeugt und Schlimmer als mein alter Stahlnagel mit Isolierbandgriff kann das neue Teil wohl auch nicht sein. :-) Da ich es aber genau wissen wollte, habe ich das Werkzeug nach dem auspacken, auch gleich (exemplarisch nur die beiden nicht verbauten Schneidköpfe) direkt unter mein Digitalmikroskop gelegt. Hier nun mein detaillierter Eindruck: 1. Lieferumfang & Erster Eindruck: Das Set kommt in einer sehr praktischen und stabilen Hartplastik-Box mit einer passgenauen Schaumstoffeinlage. Nichts klappert, die feinen Schneidköpfe sind sicher geschützt. Enthalten sind: => Der massive Metallgriff (mit bereits montiertem Schneidkopf). => Drei austauschbare Köpfe für verschiedene Glasstärken (2-6mm, 6-12mm, 12-20mm). => Ein billiger, kleiner, aber dafür passender Schraubendreher für den Kopfwechsel. => Eine ebenso günstige Pipette zum Befüllen des Öltanks von dem Schneider. 2. Verarbeitungsqualität (Die Mikroskop-Analyse): Ich habe die Schneidrädchen unter maximal möglicher Vergrößerung überprüft (siehe Fotos). Was mich wirklich überrascht hat: Die Hartmetall-Rädchen sind extrem präzise geschliffen. Es gibt keine Scharten oder Grate an der Schneidphase. Die Achsführung im Kopf ist massiv und ohne nennenswertes Spiel, was für eine saubere Druckverteilung und einen geraden Riss im Glas essenziell ist. Die Rändelung am Griff hat eine sehr gute Haptik und sorgt damit für einen extrem sicheren Halt, selbst wenn man mit zusätzlichem Schneidöl arbeitet. 3. Handhabung & Ölsystem: Das integrierte automatische Ölsystem begeistert mich am Meisten und ich hoffe es ist auch so weit dicht und verursacht bei meinem ersten tatsächlichen Einsatz damit auch keine Sauerei. Es wird sich weisen und bei eventuell negativer Erfahrung damit, werde ich diese Bewertung hier auch anpassen. Über die Pipette lässt sich der Griff leicht befüllen (ich verwende dafür dann auch zum ersten Mal ein spezielles Premium Glass Cutter Oil, siehe Bilder). Das Öl (in meinem Fall von Hemporta) sorgt dann dafür, dass das Rädchen beim Anritzen nicht „springt“ und die Reibungshitze minimiert wird. Das Ergebnis ist angeblich ein typisch, gleichmäßiges „Zischen“ beim Schnitt, das einen perfekten Bruch ankündigt. 4. Vielseitigkeit: Durch die drei verschiedenen Köpfe deckt man alles ab – vom dünnen Bilderrahmen-Glas bis hin zur dicken Tischplatte (bis 20 mm). Das macht das Set zukünftig zum universellen Begleiter für wahrscheinlich fast jedes DIY-Glas-Projekt. Pro-Tipp: Wichtig ist dann anscheinend auch, den Schneider bei Gebrauch in einem Winkel von etwa 45 Grad zu führen und den Druck gleichmäßig zu halten. An Stelle von Schneidöl (welches nicht in dem Lieferumfang enthalten ist) kann man zur Not auch Petroleum verwenden, um die feinen Glassplitter an die Schnittkante zu binden und "gefährliche" Haarrisse im Glas zu vermeiden Mein Conlusio zu dem Kauf: Für rund 10 Euro ist dieses Set ein absoluter Preis-Leistungs-Kracher. Die mechanische Präzision, die unter dem Mikroskop sichtbar wird, überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Wer öfter mit Glas arbeitet und saubere Kanten statt Scherbenhaufen möchte, kann aus meiner bescheidenen Sicht hier bedenkenlos zugreifen. Vorteile: => Extrem scharfe und präzise Hartmetall-Rädchen => Rutschfester, wertiger Metallgriff => Tolle Aufbewahrungsbox inklusive => Drei Köpfe für maximale Flexibilität Nachteil: => Schneid-Öl ist in diesem Lieferumfang nicht enthalten (sollte man einplanen). Gibt es aber auch als Mikrofläschchen um ein paar wenige Euro mehr im nächst ausführlicheren Set vom selben Anbieter hier...
