Q: What is the minimum amount of milk that will successfully froth?

I don't know the exact answer - however, the device has a 'min' marker on top of the axle where the frother rotates. Filling to this level requires very little milk, essentially enough for one cup of coffee. At the other extreme, the device can froth way more milk than you could reasonably use in several rounds of coffee. Overall, it's an expensive but effective and flexible device.

Q: Do I need anything induction in my home to use this milk frother? Or can it be plugged into a socket as normal? Thanks

You simply plug it into a plug socket outlet. The frother heats and froths the milk up to the required temperature. The bowl is very easy to rinse out and does not have heated milk residue stuck to the sides. I recommend this appliance.

Q: I had a Severin that died within 23 months. For people who have had this for a while how is it faring?

I've had two. The first one stopped frothing after about 15 months but was still under warranty and I obtained a refund. I purchased another one(As I was so impressed with the first) and had one little wobble but still going well after 14 months. This item has two year warranty!!!
