Fixing the problem of starter does not work
This is not really a review about the operation, but rather about getting started. I did everything that they said to do, but the electric starter did not work. Nothing happened when I pushed the button. After fooling with it I found out that there is a connector which comes down from the starter, and which has to connect to the battery wire. Apparently it is shipped from the factory that way, which is not a bad idea since it would keep the starter from operating if it is accidentally nudged. It works fine now, after I made the connection, but I am only giving three stars because there is nothing whatsoever about that in the documentation so far as I can tell.

Beware of your buying this for the push button start, don't
I have had this over a year and the reason I am giving it two stars is because after several months after purchasing about third use the push button to start it got stuck when I pushed it in, this starter stayed ingaged and burned something up, it just started smoking until I got a knife and pried the button back out. Never the less there went the push button starting. Although I have used it many times since by using the pull rope it starts right up with little effort. Other than that it has good pressure and works fine.

Regardless of the cost, a good machine.
First off a clarification, I did not buy this from Amazon, I bought it from Costco, new for $269. I also did not read any reviews before I bought it. I have a coupe of friends who have had this (and maybe the model before this one) who use them regularly and have raved about the reliability and how well they clean. I borrowed one and got to try it out before I bought it. For the price this is a wonderful washer, it starts easily and runs smooth and a bit quieter than my much older and smaller Generac 1500 PSI washer, It packs up better and is lighter to boot. It does have some limitations, but that is due to it's size and rating and is not reflected in my review. I dinged it one star due to a really inadequate hose and maybe just a bit if literary license in it's PSI rating. Outside of those minor points it does the job it was made for and does it well. Normally I would not give a rating here on Amazon on a product I did not buy from Amazon, but all the negative product reviews here on this washer have nothing to do with the quality of the product. I have been a contractor for several decades and make a living with my tools and would highly recommend this pressure washer to anyone who is looking for a dependable tool that does what it is advertised to do.

Electric start makes using it a breeze!
Please note that they do not ship you the one listed in the photo with the red electric start button. That is an older model and they shipped me the latest model. It has a gas shut off valve and a choke so it makes starting easy. The quick reference guide couldn't be easier to follow. The battery maintainer will keep the 12 volt battery ready for use. No more pulling the cord until I get blisters. So far I am very pleased with the Subaru 31000 PSI Electric Start Pressure Washer!

Water contaminating crankcase under normal use.
Used once. Worked well. Properly stored indoors in climate control over the winter after full cleaning and winterization. Went to use it in spring and the crankcase was full of rusty water. This points to a water pump seal failure. One use. Photo is down the exhaust port. Manual crank of engine with plug out spit rusty water out on every rotation. I guess the compression is still good on a high note.

Soap container was awesome
Awesome!First time out and washed my camper, truck, car and driveway. Works great. I have low water pressure at my barn but you would never know it. Plenty of water volume.
