I'm iron anemic, so my doctor wants me to take iron supplements, of course, but I've always had trouble with even the supplements that claim to be "gentle". In fact, a few years ago iron supplements destroyed my stomach to the point that I still can't drink any sort of alcohol or eat/drink anything acidic without ending up with severe stomach pain. This is the first supplement, out of the many that I've tried, that I'm able to tolerate when taken with breakfast in the morning. I can't take more than one per day or I'll get sick, but I've been taking it for a few months now and, while it's more maintained my iron levels than raise them (at least it's not still dropping), it's also really helped the alleviate symptoms that I found out have been from iron anemia all along like peripheral neuropathy and rapid heart rate.

I have waited to review this product to see if it changed my iron levels after a 3 month course of supplements. My iron level started out at 27, I was told to take three of these tablets a day (that's about 75mg). I took them spaced out through the day, along with vitamin c, which was kind of a pain. I'd much rather take one pill a day! Regardless, after three months my iron level is at 57. I still have days where I feel a bit dizzy and tired, so I plan to keep taking a supplement to try to improve my numbers even more. I doubt I will ever have trouble with too much iron. This product did not cause any gastric problems for me. Overall I think it worked well.

I bought Douglas Laboratories' iron supplement because I was anemic and it was free of my allergen which is in many OTC iron supplements. My local pharmacy told me about it. I bought the first bottle from them at almost double the price on Amazon. The pills are round tablets and are easily swallowed. At my first hematologist visit, three months later, he said my ferritin was at 2. He said the new 2019 theory in medicine is that when the body absorbs iron, it then won't absorb more for 40 hours. I was taking one pill two times each day, logically spreading it out. He had me take two pills once every two days. Three months later my level was 11. That apparently is the point where the body will start to store iron again, so one has reserves. I continue this regimen, as directed. I recommend this product because it is working for me.

The size of the tablets were a huge plus for me. They were small tablets and easy to swallow. I took mine at night before bed with water and they were easy on my sensitive stomach. I would purchase them again. One star was taken away just because of the coating.

These iron pills are amazing! Every other brand gives me a stomach ache, but these clear up my "lack-of-iron" symptoms and never irritate my stomach. You can tell these are quality supplements and I will absolutely be repurchasing!

I think we are asked to make a review on products too soon. Frankly, it is too soon to know how well these work ( only 1 1/2 days ). I can say they are easy to swallow. They arrived a day late. Douglas labs is a great company so I have every reason to expect good results. I won't have another blood test for two weeks which should give enough time to document improvement. So far, I can say that even with anemia, I can be somewhat more active for part of the day. At least something got done yesterday and today! I have had good sleep too.

These timed release are great. I never experience upset stomach or constipation with these. I take it at night after I have eaten the last time. I also take a "trace minerals" supplement as there are other minerals like copper that are need to fully process iron. I have noticed that I am less winded after exertion - which is a sign to me that oxygen is getting into my cells better than before I started taking it.

I like this variety of iron because it doesn't cause nausea even if I take it on an empty stomach. I feel more energetic after taking it along with vitamin C, so I don't take it at night or I'll be to peppy to sleep! The tablet size isn't tiny, but it's not huge either, so I have no trouble swallowing it.
