AC icing? Easy fix. Save hundreds.
We have a 5 ton, 13 seer, 11 year old Carrier HVAC. We put a new compressor and thermostat on it last summer (6/2016). About 5 weeks ago I noticed that the coolant line was iced over. We immedietly turned off the system. We then turned on the fan (blower). We noticed the fan did not turn on right away. The next day a tech came out and said that he could not find any problems. We replace the filter every month and the coolant levels were perfect with no leaks. Ok, great... So this past Monday my wife noticed that the floor was cold near the air handler and knew that was a flag. She turned off the system and again turned on the blower. It took a while again for the blower to turn on (we are aware of the delay built in). The next day we called another ac company tech. He too told us that the system was running perfectly. So as I spoke with him we went through what else could cause the icing. Filter was clean so no blocked air flow, coolant was good so no problems with insuffcient exchange, no blockage in the drain line (we shop vac it out and add vinegar routinely), inside coils were clean. So in my opinion it had to be a blower issue. The tech told me the xompany would charge about $400 for parts and labor on a new blower control unit and a new 15mfd capacitor. Needless to say, and thanks to Amazon we ordered a new control unit and a new run capacitor for under $60 dollars. Just has to pull the air handler cover off, turn odd the breaker, and replace some wires. We hope this fixes the icing issue. No way to know yet. I will update the review if it does not fix the problem. Otherwise thank you Amazon, you rock.

Im not a professional but it fixed my AC
My home was having AC issues that included; AC always running due to the blower always running and the downstairs being warmer than the upstairs. I did a lot of research on what the cause could possibly be and I read it could be a relay. Upon inspection to my HVAC system i couldnt see a standalone relay or a fan switch but I did see this board. I bought it on a whim along with calling HVAC repair. This arrived a day earlier than my appointment. Decided to install it. Installation was very easy, a few minutes. After the removal of the old one it was obvious this was the cause. The old fan relay on the old board had sharted and melted some of the plastic on the relay. Got the new one installed. turned on the power and bing bang boom, all problems were fixed. House tempature returned to normal. Blower turns on and off like normal.

Replacements work sometimes, these boards have reliability issues.
Updating my review after two years. I bought two of these boards about 2 years ago. I have had to replace both of them and now I am looking for the third. They worked ok for a while and then started exhibiting problems. One of the boards won't turn off the fan at all so the fan runs all the time, the other one is duplicating the same problem I had with the original board where the compressor buzzes loudly and the fan doesn't shut off. Both situations force me to turn the thermostat off to reset it. This progressively gets worse over time where I am constantly having to cycle the unit off in order to reset it. I kept the old board that doesn't turn off the fan as an emergency spare and am now forced to look for another replacement. These boards appear to fit a multitude of air handlers from different brand names, all I can say is they're relatively inexpensive which is good but they are also pretty cheap which is bad. Will they do the job? My experience is they probably will depending on the board, but you will wind up having to replace them in a short period of time so buy with that knowledge or look for alternatives.

Three Stars
Initially this card fixed the issue with my AC. Plugged it in and all was good. Now, only 4 months later, I've had to replace it again! With the first card I had the unit inspected and even replaced the capacitor just in case. But just a week or so ago it started having the same symptoms as before. (fan wouldnt start and the coils were freezing up). Now that I'm familiar with the symptoms, this second replacement was a no brainer. But I expected the card to last longer than 4 months! Initially I had given it 5 stars but for its short lifespan I have reduced it to 3 stars. Lets see how long this second card lasts..........

DYI Success
Matched the bad board in my air handler perfectly and saved me at least $200 since I did'nt have to call the AC Repair man.

Saved a ton
Was able to buy this from a seller for less than $40. Local techs were wanting up to $300 for the part alone. It was super easy to swap this card out.
