MUST have.
I got the Scumbug Oil-Absorbing Sponge for my pool, and it has proven to be a true game-changer in simplifying maintenance and keeping my pool water crystal clear. This innovative sponge effectively tackles the persistent issue of oils, lotions, and scum that can accumulate on the water's surface, providing a hassle-free solution to maintain a pristine swimming environment. The most notable feature of the Scumbug is its remarkable ability to absorb oils and contaminants. Placing the sponge in the pool allows it to float effortlessly, attracting and trapping unsightly scum and oils that often mar the water's appearance. This simple yet effective mechanism significantly reduces the need for manual skimming and ensures that the pool stays clean with minimal effort. The durability of the Scumbug is impressive. Despite its lightweight and seemingly delicate appearance, the sponge holds up well against continuous exposure to pool chemicals and the elements. The reusable nature of the Scumbug makes it an economical choice for long-term pool maintenance, providing ongoing value and reducing the frequency of replacements. Cleaning the Scumbug is a breeze. A quick rinse under the tap or a simple squeeze is all it takes to refresh the sponge and ready it for another round of oil absorption. The low-maintenance aspect of the Scumbug adds to its appeal, allowing pool owners to focus more on enjoying their pool and less on laborious cleaning tasks. I particularly appreciate the versatility of the Scumbug. It works equally well in various pool types, from traditional chlorine pools to saltwater pools. Its compatibility with different pool chemicals and systems makes it a versatile solution for pool owners with diverse maintenance needs. The Scumbug is a cost-effective solution that helps reduce the overall maintenance costs associated with keeping a pool clean. By efficiently removing oils and contaminants, it contributes to a healthier pool environment, potentially extending the life of pool filters and reducing the need for additional chemical treatments. In conclusion, the Scumbug Oil-Absorbing Sponge is a small yet powerful addition to my pool maintenance routine. Its ability to tackle scum and oils effortlessly, combined with its durability and ease of use, makes it an invaluable tool for any pool owner. If you're looking for a simple and effective solution to keep your pool water clear and inviting, the Scumbug Oil-Absorbing Sponge is a wise investment that pays off with a consistently clean and enjoyable swimming experience.

Excellent product!
For a number of years I've used the scum sponges that look like turtles or seals etc. They usually came in a package of 20 or so for around $20.00. One day I decided to buy this brand to change things up a bit. I felt they were expensive considering they sold for $15 for 2 units, but the reviews were good so I clicked on the "purchase now button." The packaging says each sponge will last an entire season. I've used for 2 weeks, and they do not change color immediately like the sponges I used previously. The best thing is they do a TERRIFIC job. My water is extremely clear, as the sponges cleared out any super-tiny debris in the water column. As you can see in the photo, the clarity is exceptional. These are absolutely worth the money and I highly recommend them for your spa.

Not the size as advertised?
Don't be fooled they are advertised as 8" x 8". The ones I got were 3-3/4" wide by 4-1/2" tall. A little small for our 6 person hot tub. They do float and seem to collect the oils on the top of the water though.

Great scum absorber for the money.
These are great little scum busters. I have used them before and these are the best for me. Nicely priced for a two pack.

Not great!
Tried these in our hot tub. They did collect color on them. Did they really do anything useful for the tub? Probably not!

Works great
Works great as they float around the hot tub and pick up floating bits of debris. Have used these for years and my original one is just now starting to break down a bit. Highly recommend.
