Robert WelchSignature 12cm Cooks Knife. Suitable for All Chopping Purposes

It is a delicate knife. Before you purchase you have to consider you will definitely need to buy its own sharpener. Even the sharpener is not cheap. But it deserves every single penny. I am using this knife over a year now. It has small starches at metal part but still working well. After one year use now l need to buy a sharpener. Now not sharp as the first times. It has really nice balance. I only did hand washing. Never left dirty, and dried it after the wash. It still looks good.

Great little knife. My mother in law remains confused as to why I'd want a knife for Christmas. I cook a lot, and this is a great day-to-day knife. I will be buying a slightly larger one. The handle is lovely to hold; nice shape, weight and feel. Used more than any other "utility" knife, and would buy again.

Sharp well made time will tell on life of how long before needs sharpening

My son bought me this knife for my birthday last year, and as he loves cooking, I decided to return the favour and get him one for Christmas, so technically, this one hasn't been used yet. However, my one is used every day and I wouldn't be without it. It cuts through anything without any effort. By far the best chef's knife I've ever owned in all my adult life! I went on to buy a smaller vegetable knife from the range and have put the bread and carving knives on my Christmas list! Yes, they are rather expensive, but so worth it! Just a tip though - keep them away and preferably in their box (& obviously, well out of reach of children) - it would be easy to cut yourself badly if rummaging through a cutlery drawer for it!!

did online research of best knives, these got frequent mentions, so went for this based on price and recommendations. I'm not disappointed with the quality, the design or the way the knife performs, all of that is beyond my expectations, however I am disappointed in myself for not realising how big 25cm actually is! This won't fit in my cutlery drawer lengthwise, it doesn't fit in the Robert Welch knife block either due to length and width, so its now sitting in its box, protected from the other knives resting on the section dividers in the drawer. At least the drawer still shuts, however the knife is so good, I have forgiven myself!!

Good knife, good ergonomics, the handle being a good shape and a natural comfortable position for your wrist whilst in use, the steel - though not the best out there in comparison to say vg10, is still of good quality with good edge retention.The knife came with a good edge straight out the box razor sharp from heel to tip which isn't always the case, I've had to re profile or sharpen many knives which weren't nearly as sharp as they could have been straight from the factory.The only thing that loses a mark for me is that when placed on a flat surface the last couple of inches or so is raised up by about 4mm where the knife isn't quite straight, just a small QC issue, all in all though a good knife for the price point. Pleased with my choice so far.

This is the second one of these exact knives I’ve bought.It is excellent. It is used for everything and will do everything.Keep it sharp using a stone and it will live with you forever.For the money it’s exceptional.

Really really comfortable, loads of care in the design. The handle is just made for human hands, rather than trendy looks. keeps an excellent edge. As a woodworker I apreciate quality tools.I write occasional reviews to say what is good and lasting, and what isn't, hoping to reduce the waste caused by shoddy products.
