I had a plastic coffee filter for 5 years when I noticed the plastic was starting to....melt? But what really got me was that every month or so I was buying unbleached, natural paper filters that were fairly overpriced at my co-op (5€ for 30 filters!). I never knew you didn't need those paper filters! I got this filter after reading and comparing reviews of several metal ones....and was pretty sceptical, but thought I could at least reduce my waste, etc, and try it out. I have been using it every day for the last 2.5 months and really it's amazing....I wasted so much time and money over my life on buying paper filters! This product is not only aesthetically pleasing, but so well engineered. I read reviews that the coffee went through too fast and that it was weak. I didn't change anything in the amounts of ground coffee I put in, yes it's fast but if anything the taste was clearer as it wasn't filtering through my old plastic filter base and paper filters, so just pure coffee taste. As in anything, the better quality coffee you use, the better it will be. I have already recommended this to my mother and my roommates are now using it too. With all it's use, easy to clean, comes with brush which you don't really need as your fingers do the job just as well, and it looks the same as the day I bought it, no rusting or staining. An amazing product I wish I'd known about back in 2003 when I started using filter coffee bases! Update: unfortunately, despite me cleaning it deligently after every use, it clogged up and now takes 15 minutes for one cup of coffee...I didn't dock a star, but ordered another one because when it's good, it's the best! But still sad it lasted about 4 months

I cannot explain how lovely this item genuinely is. I've been trying to make a good cup of coffee without fancy machinery, or using environmentally unfriendly products, and finally - I've found the perfect tool for it! The quality of this coffee filter is second to none; it's brilliantly made, durable, and a great size - you can put a fair bit of coffee grounds and water in it without it causing any issues. As for the flow rate, it's perfect - if you want a good cup of coffee, you want the water to sit in the grounds a little bit before filtering through. It makes the coffee that much stronger and it's truly great. If you're wanting to swap out paper filters with something far more environmentally friendly, as well as being value for money, this is the perfect item! Cannot recommend it enough!

Good product, easy to clean, easy to use. The only thing that was unexpected was the little brown plastic that came off from the place where you grab it. That's the only reason it's not a 5 stars for me, but it will accomplish it's purpose.

Very impressed with this product. I was a little worried about how it would fit on different mugs and expected it to wobble but it's very stable and has a silicone? perhaps, sorry I haven't checked but a rubbery type (for those of us who are old fashioned) seal on the bottom rim which means it sits very well in a shallow dish too, (just tried as I intend on making my morning coffee in the bedroom and placing the filter in a bowl to drain) very pleased! I'm looking forward to the morning, I made a beautiful, rich cup of coffee this morning, no fuss, filters quickly and efficiently and cleaned straight away (after removing grains) under running water. Fabulous! I don't usually leave a review. I have an Aeropress which I'm very impressed with and I recently treated myself to a new one with Birthday money so I have one at work and now the first one's given up (it was quite old) so I bought a cafetière for work but I'm quite fussy about my coffee and I didn't like all the coffee grains in the bottom of my mug! I was putting up with it. This, I will use at home and enjoy. Have my filter ensconced over a jug (a milk jug) with a plastic bag over the top atm, preparing a flask of hot water and off to bed! I like Lavazza coffee and yes, maybe that's why it didn't work with the cafetière but this is so much better and I can't wait for my morning coffee, it's so important just first few moments of the day. This is the second coffee filter of this type that I have bought. The first was a different make and came with its own little glass flask. I prefer this one as it can sit directly on top of your mug - ideal if like me you are just making coffee for one. The coffee tastes excellent with just the smallest amount of fines in the bottom of the cup - irrelevant unless you really are extremely finicky. I use digital scales both to measure out my beans and get the right amount of water, but you can do the water by eye if you want as long as you don't pour in too much and overflow the cup! No filters to buy or throw away is a bonus. The mesh is fine and although daily care is really simple it does need cleaning. A rinse under the cold tap isn't enough. I use a small sponge under the tap [hot or cold] to clean the filter immediately after use and that's enough. If you don't clean it it will eventually start to clog up, even though this isn't visible. If necessary put it in the dishwasher once in a while [rinse thoroughly afterwards in case of taint]. All-in-all an excellent product and it produces much better tasting coffee than a cafetière.

Works well! No paper filter needed and it filters perfectly. I've washed it a couple of times and it has been fine in the dishwasher.

Used one before on holiday so I decided to invest in one here. Excellent choice, It’s enough for two people, if you need for more then you definitely need the bigger version. Good quality and the handy brush is a bonus to help clean. Saves in filter papers so much better for the environment. I have an a plastic adapter to help so it’s easy to fill up a flask. Recommend

Bin der einzige Kaffeetrinker in der Familie. Für diesen Fall perfekt. Einzelne Tassen lassen sich damit wunderbar zubereiten. Leicht zu reinigen und bei Bedarf spülmaschinenfest.

Zuallererst: der Filter funktioniert wie er soll. Die Reinigung gestaltet sich auch äußerst einfach. Und, das wichtigste, der Kaffee schmeckt teilweise besser als früher. Es gibt nur wenig zu beachten: den Kaffee einfüllen, dann etwas heisses Wasser drauf geben, dass der Kaffee sich damit Vollsaugen und etwas "brühen bzw blühen" kann, danach immer etwas mehr Wasser als Kaffee drin ist eingießen und abwarten, dass dieser durchläuft und das ganze Wiederholen. Der Kaffee darf niemals schwimmen, sonst wird es nämlich etwas wässrig. Vom Geschmack her wird es viele überraschen, denn der Kaffee schmeckt intensiver und vollmundiger als mit einem Papierfilter, da einfach die ganzen Öle des Kaffee ins Wasser mit beigemischt werden, anstatt durch den Filter aufgehalten zu werden. Im Selbstversuch mit Blindverkostung konnte ich das in 4 von 5 Fällen erschmecken aus welchem Filter der Kaffee kam und ich bin beileibe kein Meister des Fachs. Die Reinigung ist auch sehr einfach, einfach den noch feuchten Kaffee in den Biomüll und dem Filter Heiss unter fließend Wasser auswaschen. Alle paar Tage mit Seife die restlichen Öle per Hand auswaschen um die Langlebigkeit zu bewahren, fertig. Ein kleiner Tipp: nachdem man den Kaffee für z.b. 2 Tassen eingefüllt hat, kann man eine kleine Kuhle in der Mitte formen und von dort aus dass Wasser bis zum Rand des Kaffee eingießen, so geht es ein wenig flotter. Kleine Anmerkung: Es braucht halt auch seine 3-5 Minuten Zeit, bis der Kaffee fertig ist und ist nicht wie bei einem Vollautomaten per Knopfdruck da. In einer normalen Filtermaschine braucht es auch Zeit und das Wasser kommt schluckweise in den Filter. Mir jedenfalls schmeckt der Kaffee und es dauert nicht länger als mit anderen Methoden. Empfehlung meinerseits!

Satisfait de cet article. Très bonne qualité de fabrication, simple à utiliser et facile à nettoyer. Le café a un goût net, sans résidu ni arrière-goût. Le filtre inox est robuste et bien conçu, rien à voir avec les gadgets bon marché. Une vraie alternative écologique aux capsules ou filtres papier. Je recommande à 100 % !

Ich filtere bisher meinen Kaffee mit einem Keramikfilter, mit Filterpapier. Entsorgung: Einen Teil entsorge ich, mit Hilfe des Papierfilters, in den Biomüll bzw. auf meinen Komposter Garten. Einen weiteren Teil sammle ich, als Dünger für den Garten. - Dieser Edelstahl-Filter funktioniert ebenfalls gut. Der Durchlauf ist schneller als beim Papierfilter. Ob der Geschmack des Kaffees besser ist - also da bin ich mir noch immer nicht sicher. Was ich aber beobachte: Die kostbare "Crema" des Kaffees bleibt auch beim Edelstahlfilter im Filter - leider. - Sehr wichtig: Die Beschreibung hier suggeriert, dass man den Edelstahlfilter nach Gebrauch einfach unter fließendem Wasser reinigt, also den Kaffeesatz in den Abfluss gibt. Also BITTE NICHT! Kaffeesatz ist ein wertvolles Gut, insbesondere ein wertvoller Dünger für den Garten (in Maßen, natürlich, bitte näher darüber informieren). Also habe ich ein Gefäß bereit gestellt, indem ich nun jeden Morgen den getrockneten Kaffeesatz vom Vortag aus dem Edelstahlfilter heraus kratze und nur was so nicht rausgeht, mit dem mitgelieferten kleinen Bürstchen unter dem fließenden Wasser wegspüle... Insgesamt also Empfehlung, mit Einschränkungen.
