Brio has friendly, understanding customer service reps and stand behind their product!
Our business purchased the Brio Self Cleaning Bottleless Water Cooler Dispenser with Filtration with the hot/cold feature for our team breakroom and they have loved it! The filtration works great making our city water tastes clean and fresh. The hot element is amazing, especially for hot cocoa or making oatmeal. After having the unit for two years the water spouts all of a sudden stopped passing water through, therefore we contacted Brio who helped us through some troubleshooting and a system reboot. However, it did not resolve the issue. We have replaced filters on schedule and kept the unit in a protected area. The unit only came with a one year warranty but Brio has stood behind their product and is willing to replace it! This kind of customer service and product support deserves a shout out and recognition that shows they stand behind what they manufacture and sell. Even outside of that, this unit is well worth it's cost!

machine only lasted 1 year before problems
Had this unit for 2 years, here is my warning ,DONT BUY THIS UNIT,yes this unit works great at first but upon the 1 year mark the unit starts freezing the water tank turning it into a block of ice with in return the cold water stops flowing out because line is frozen,I had it taken it apart to discover this ,I think they give you 1 year warranty on this machine because they know this machine works flawless in that year, honestly this machine has a design flaw inside the tank because of a plastic part that is suppose to block ice from covering the hole that dispenses water and in time of constant freezing and unfreezing the platic parts move up out of alignment which cause the no water coming out so I thawed it out cleaned the tank and put back the plastic part and it worked for a few months again like it did new ,after time it started doing it again which just gets irritating so I did it again at the 2 year 3 month mark but this time it just froze up again overnight and now it sounds as if refrigerated motor does not turn off because every time I would come back to the machine it sounded as it was on with no break constantly on which in the morning no more water came out becausein sure it froze up again,so I think now theres a faulty part somewhere inside that needs replacement which is a bummer for a 2 year old device,if I were you look on Google for family owned water cooler companies that fix and refurbished coolers and buy 1 off them like i did years ago until i went this machine,It probably won't be the prettiest one but I guarantee it should work longer then this one, last one I bought from a company like that lasted 10 years but like any company they will say that parts are not available to fix when it breaks down it so buy another which i should of done but at least it will last longer and keep these newer machines out of landfills because it was made with budget cheap parts, that are not available on a 2 year old machine, thanks for reading

Ok Cooler, Great Manufacturer Support
We bought this water cooler for our work. The cooling component went out after about a year, used daily by 7-10 people. Hot water and room temperature water were fine. I would have knocked off a star or two for the issue, but the customer support at Brio was excellent. There is an email address on the back of the water cooler - they responded in two days and sent a brand new replacement cooler no questions asked. Super easy to work with, great service.

Great product, awesome customer service.
This is a great machine. I did the research first and this is exactly what we needed. It does connect to an existing waterbl line. I was a plumber years ago and I did install for quite a few years in residential and commercial buildings. This was very easy to install. We did have a bad valve and the quick connect was not giving a proper seal. We called customer support and they were amazing! I explained everything and he wasnt aware that I used to be a plumber but he never hesitated in the call. After a great attempt to troubleshoot, he stated he would send us the part free of charge. I got an email a couple hours later that FedEx had picked it up. Its here now two days later and installed. Works like a charm. The valve is not a common issue based off of reviews and in my years of plumbing, there was always the one off situation where a quick connect would just not work. This is not on Brio. Love this water cooler and the customer service that came alone with it. I highly recommend this product.

The tap water now taste great
Consider what you get, it is a very good value. The unit looks sharp and came with extra filters (2 sets total). A basic installation is straight forward, in my case I opted for a more complex install. Excellent functionality to satisfy a water fussy person like me. As far a noise level, my unit has a very acceptable, I would say low noise level, zero disturbance positioned next to the pantry just outside the kitchen.

Well Built Water Cooler with Great Tasting Water
I selected this cooler after looking at all available options. Looked at top feed, bottom feed and plumbed water coolers. For a little more cost and a little bit of installation, no more plastic bottles or five gallon jugs to deal with. Doing a cost analysis including the cost of electricity to run, filter costs, supply water cost etc... compared to the cost of water jugs or bottles and the time required to stock them, you are saving money. And to be honest, my time is more valuable to me than the money saved; but saving is a plus. I was looking at the Avalon A5 or A7, which is a comparable unit, I chose the Brio due to the savings by getting an extra filter set and the looks are more appealing to me. Otherwise I believe them to be almost identical as far as features go. I am not going to outline the features of this cooler, as the Amazon listing does that well. However, I will mention a couple of things to consider. If you do not install this cooler in your kitchen (with access to water supply line under sink), you will likely needs a few other parts. I installed in my kitchen on the opposite side of the water supply line, so I used a 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4 SharkBite (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016M169KU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) in the supply line in my crawl and came through the floor. Worked out great, and was able to place my cooler where I wanted it. As far as the cooler functions go...Yes, there is a hot, cold and room temperature spigot. Room is a bit of a misnomer, as the temperature of the room water is typically around 55 degrees. If you don't use the hot water you can turn off the switch on the back for the hot function to save electricity and this also allows you to get true room temperature water out of the hot spigot. There are switches on the back for the cold and the hot. The temps I get with both switches on are Hot - 170, Room - 55, Cold - 42. With the hot switch off I get Hot - 70 (Room temp), Room - 55, Cold - 42. The only con to mention, and this will be unlikely for other purchasers - is the night light did not work. Took the top off, just as you would need to do for an internal cleaning, and plugged in the connector. Night light works. Overall, I would definitely purchase again - Water taste is great, which could vary by household. And if you are looking to completely purify your water, that wont happen with most any unit on the market. But i do suggest researching water purification stages so you get what you are looking for. **Update** After a couple of weeks, the temperature of the water with all switches on are Hot - 175, Cold - 43 and room water is now 45 degrees. I have checked these temperatures at various times and the temps remain pretty constant. I was very disappointed that after just a couple of weeks the room temp and cold were pretty much the same. Seems to be an engineering design issue as the cold and room temp water share a reservoir - albeit, they are separated by a plastic disc, similar to the Avalon A5 and A7. Called Amazon with the issue and they would have sent a replacement unit, but they were out of stock so they offered me a refund. Really just wanted to fix the issue but, Amazon always does right by the customer. If you are looking for room temperature water option, I would not chose this model unless you are willing to turn off the hot reservoir switch.

Brio
The machine works great but we did have 1 issue when we got it. You must remember to drain drip pan and don't let it overflow or it will drip on the sensor inside. When this happens, sensor thinks there is a leak and unit will not work. We called customer service and they made us aware and now we drain daily since this is being used in an office and we have no problems since.

From the beginning, it did not produce any hot water!!
I bought this Brio 520 Bottleless Water Cooler very recently, on May 22, 2024. Because of my job maintaining facilities, I am very knowledgeable about many things related to plumbing and electrical work. When I installed this bottleless water cooler in the kitchen, it did not produce any hot water. Although it produced cold water well, no hot water came out. Additionally, water was continually leaking from the drain plug, which made me curious. I asked myself why water was continuously coming out of the drain plug since the device did not have a reverse osmosis system, which would need to bleed out the wastewater through the drain plug. I raised these issues with Brio Customer Support. They told me to reboot the device by leaving it unplugged for two hours and then restarting it. However, this did not work, and the customer support staff could not explain why water kept coming out of the drain plug even when the device was not in use. As a result, I returned this product on June 6, 2024. I was really disappointed with this product. Unfortunately, there are not many reasonably priced water cooler brands available. Some brands, like Elkay, are overpriced and do not have the function of producing hot water. Until I find a good product that works properly, I may still be stuck with defective products due to limited brands and price constraints. From my observations, Brio and Avalon seem to be the same company. Even though they have different names, products, and websites, I am quite sure they are the same company based on the design, function, and structure of their devices. Some companies use this strategy to sell more products. Nevertheless, I reordered the Brio 520 Bottleless Water Cooler, hoping it will not have any problems. Hopefully, my experience will be helpful to future customers.
