Great unit, you don’t need the adapter in most cases. My bike has 23 inch wheels and works fine without the adapter.

The Saris was easy to assemble and connect to my wife's bicycle. The special adaptors fit perfectly, and the bike is very stable in the mount. The bike doesn't need any drilling or permanent modifications which will change the bike; the adaptors can be removed without doing any damage. The magnetic pedaling force works well, and it is easy to change the force by using a lever attached on the handlebars. In the Spring, it will be easy to disconnect the Saris from the bike so my wife can ride her bike outside.

The trainer is well built and solidly made. The assembly was simple with the included instructions. The cable adjustments for the resistance was a bit confusing but if followed the adjuster worked as designed. Once assembled my road bike with 700 tires fit well and it was a stable riding platform. The one complain I have is that the resistance adjustment offers very little resistance if any at all. I contacted the manufacture and was told that the function of the magnetic resistance would not supply the level of resistance I was looking for and would need to get the resistance through my bike gearing. They recommended that I switch to one of the fluid trainers. I have used other manufactures trainers that offer a real resistance with an adjustable magnetic system. I was looking for a trainer that I could use in lieu of a smart trainer by making resistance adjustments manually. I returned the unit and purchased a smart wheel on trainer.

Bought w adapter for my 20" recumbent. Yes, I'm old. Winter spin and before work. Use it 4+ days/week. Solid eqipment and realistic road work out.

The barrel adjuster didn’t even have threads. There weren’t any nuts either on my shifter it’s literally useless but the stand and everything was fine though. The roller doesn’t roll smooth either I’m not sure what I was expecting there but the lowest resistance setting stops you in a matter of seconds or less. This 1 star review however is for the fact that I received a brand new (presumably) item with wrong/missing parts. If you’ve got gears on your bike though, that works fine too. Honestly just leave the machine resistance on “medium” and adjust your gears as you ride from there.

Assembles fairly quickly; functions as advertised. A tiny bit expensive but was worth it given my setup.
