I have bought three of these magic sets now and they have been really well received by children aged from 6 to 9 years - and adults enjoy trying the tricks too. The tricks are sturdy, don’t fall apart mid-trick and actually work! Depending on age and dexterity, the little magicians will need to practise their performance and the ‘patter’, but the tricks are clever and impressive. Nice to have them fit easily back into the wooden box too, safely secure with the sliding lid, all ready for the next magic show. Not cheap but I think well worth the money - lots of play value.

Bought for a 6 Yr old. With supervision he can master tricks. Well made and mainly not plastic and therefore lot longer life.

Great wooden boxed set of magic tricks for children. I bought this for my Grandson for Christmas. With the help of his dad he will have a great time learning and perfecting the tricks. Just like the old days, things made of wood for a change. A bit pricy but it's worth it.

Yes it's lovely thank you. if you're buying it for a small child, I suggest you master a few tricks before giving the gift. I think it's a great present for a child.

This is, I think, on the whole, good value for money but one of the main illusions involves a mystic tube which is made of cheap cardboard! The wood elsewhere gives the impression of durability but im not sure how long this kit will last. Having said all that my 6 year old grandson loves it - and so do I. It’s made for a 6 year old so I’d recommend it.

This was a gift for my son's 6th birthday and I based the purchased largely on the majority of positive reviews! He was so excited when it was delivered yesterday and I was equally excited to start teaching him some started magic ( I was an amateur magician for many years). I unpacked the box and was first of all a little surprised at the poor quality wooden gimmicks within. The tray which is used for the vanishing tricks had two pieces of broken wood - one on each side. They were both as thin as a matchstick and there is no way they would last long before breaking off completely. I persevered, and tried using a bit of glue to repair it. In the end I gave up as it was just too brittle to repair. The second item I inspected was the Impossible Escape gimmick. I tried to teach my son the workings of the trick and was stunned to discover that the the blocks do not fit inside the box the necessary way for the trick to even work. We tried and tried to make it work, and then ended up getting the blocks jammed inside for our efforts. These really are the two main tricks. Everything else inside the box (which is not much else), is absolute pants (sorry there really is no better word). It is a box of wooden junk that you have to pay through the nose for. It's a bit like that famous episode of Only Fools and Horses where Del tricks Rodney into buying a set of broken lawnmower engines. If you read the positive reviews here and then buy this, you are basically buying the equivalent to those lawnmower engines and should change your name to Rodney. My first ever magic set was a Paul Daniels set back in the 1980's. It was what got me started in magic and kept me busy for years. This, by comparison is nowhere even close. Trust me, stay away from this and shop around or you will be as disappointed as we were. Within 2 hours I had packed it back up and its now being returned to Amazon where they can use the box to store stationary or something. It really is all its good for.

Bought this for my grandson's birthday. Chose to buy the wooden set for environmental reasons but whilst the quality and appearance is OK the lack of actual magic tricks rather let it down.

My child has had hours of fun using this and beats the plastic sets out there in terms durability and quality.

This was a gift for my grandsons 6th bday. He was very excited. He was able to get a few tricks right away although they needed much polishing! I feel it is age appropriate and a perfect first magic kit.

I bought first set and there was just one small isuue. The wizard didn't work the same as the others. The hole was slightly too big thus caused the wizard not to pop up unless the card was further tightly on the wand. I ordered a second set and saw the quality of the whole thing was terrible. so I sent back the second set. Second set wood was softer, lighter, marked and chipped easily. It was like two different products. First set had logos and second set did not. Where is quality control? I really like the set if quality iwould be as good as the first set. Nice props.

I bought for my six year old grandson. He was able to learn it pretty easy. It is good quality material.

This is a fun assortment of new and old tricks and is definitely targeted at the younger crowd as the tricks of easy to do. My Grandson is 6 and he was thrilled. Running to show his grandmother each trick as he "mastered" it. Unfortunately it is made of very cheap, soft wood and we already have broken pieces. It is really too bad. I would have bought two more sets for the other grand kids but this one didn't survive a single day.
