Is this 1 inch wide before the fold? One of the pictures shows 2in. Need 1inch wide before the fold so I end up with 1/2 in on each side

Completely opened it is 1 1/2 inches wide. It is folded on each edge, then folded in half again. Folded, it is 11 mm. or just under 1/2 in. (13/32) on each side. I hope this helps.

I’m making a baby quilt! How many rolls would I need? And what width would you suggest?

Most baby quilts are 27 inches x 52 inches (just large enoush to cover the matress and not be tucked in) you are adding the amount of each side up and then dividing by the 36" that makes a yard. You would need 4.5 yards since this roll has 55 YARDS... you could make: 12 baby quilts (27"x54") 6 child sized (64"x92") 5 twin sized (71"x101") 5 double sized (86"x101") 5 queen sized (92"x106") 4 king sized (110"x106) 4 Cal King sized (104"x110") Hope that helps ACTUALLY answer your question

Is it stretchy like elastic ?

It’s bias tape. So it’s basically fabric cut on a bias (angle) so it has a little more give than if cut straight across. Think of a fuzzy blanket with trim. The trim is bias tape. So no not like elastic stretchy but like if you took one of your dress shirts and turned it so one hand was near the shoulder and one was near the hip and pulled stretchy.

Some reviews state that the white bias tape is a thinner fabric than other colors. Is that true of "cream" as well?

I have not noticed a difference in the fabrics.
