Good cost effective alternative to pricier vinyl backdrops
When it comes to discount type photo supplies I tend to rate them not simply on how good or bad they are but rather how good or bad they are keeping in mind the money spent. It seems only fair. I can't compare this to backdrops costing four or five times as much because they are in a different league to my mind. That said, here is my review....I purchased two of these for an on location photo shoot. They are super portable and very easy to work with. Because they are vinyl they were easy to hang with no warps or wrinkles. They photographed cleanly. I used the glossy side which does have a bit of textured to it though I am not sure why. It gave me a true white knockout background which was exactly the effect we were going for.Its true what other reviewers have said.... the measurements were off by a bit and yes they roll this up on the 9 foot side. It IS a pain in the neck to unpack this from its shipping state but you incur that pain in the neck once and you're done. And, as the first reviewer pointed out, you can cut the tube down once you've unpacked it and roll it on the shorter side which is what I did and it still works just fine with no warps or wrinkles.Given the size, it IS easy to work with if you are alone. Just be careful handling it so you don't put a buckle into it as it is not light like paper and left to drag on its own I think it would crease and you don't want that. If we wanted creases we'd use muslin!BOTTOM LINE: A very good and cost effective alternative to other seamless white backgrounds. I am giving it 5 stars based on its cost/value. If it was in a price category over a hundred dollars I would be giving it 4 or possibly even 3.5 stars.

Excellent value for a good studio backdrop setup
This was a surprisingly good value. At first I didn't think the six plastic clamps would be strong or sturdy enough to hold the heavy weight of the vinyl seamless backdrop but they actually work very well. There was some fiddle factor to get a perfectly smooth finish on the vinyl that had more to do with the lighter weight frame; but it did work just fine in the end (with the help of a grip friend). I do think I'll have to treat the system with some care/caution, but it isn't fragile either. The vinyl itself is excellent quality and shoe marks from the first clients to use this setup wiped away easily. This system gave me an excellent studio setup that works well and for a very reasonable price. In the long run having a more or less permanent backdrop instead of disposable paper will save a lot of money. FYI: My first Cowboy Studio purchase was two years ago for rf hotshoe triggers that I still use with Canon Speedlights. I'd intended them to be temporary until I could afford better but they still work well and don't need to be replaced. That good experience persuaded me to try this setup. Cowboy Studio does a good job for my needs and I'm no longer reluctant to try what they offer.

Were it the right size, it'd get a better rating
Let me say first that the biggest problem you'll have is that if you happen to receive a randomly sized one of these - which is very common with Cowboystudio (they have 0 quality control and they'll tell you sorry after they screw up, but won't try and renumerate you) it's impossible to return it. It comes packaged in this flimsy paper that once it's off, you'll never get it back on.I kept mine just because I didn't feel like trying to figure out how to rewrap it for UPS to pick it up.The actual material it's made of is fine. It has texture, but it doesn't show up in photos and doesn't have a reflection. But two big problems. I ordered 6x9 and it's maybe 5x8, maybe. It comes rolled on a flimsy tube WIDEWAYS. Why you'd want something 8 or 9 feet across and five or 6 feet high is beyond me. I ended up making the family I photographed sit on the ground, and even then, it didn't cover the ground beneath their feet. I spent a lot of time photoshopping the white drop cloth I used under their feet match the backdrop. Because of how it's mounted, you can't easily turn it the other way, and it'd most likely warp because it's been stored the opposite way since it was warehoused. So something that should be a slam dunk because it's SO cheap and it has stated dimensions, ended up a stone around my neck, taking up 9 feet in my dining room. I don't want to get it dirty in the garage and since it comes with no covering or tube of any sort, and since it's so unwieldy long, I can't figure where I'd put it.Cowboystudio is cheap and often worth the risk, especially through Amazon, but this item will be an albatross and impossible to return if you get one of their randomly sized ones. I think they short you intentionally, knowing you're not going to return it. Buyer beware.
