House of Edinburgh Truly Handmade Original Recipe Shortbread Fingers, 6oz Box (Pack of 1)

I love shortbreads, and have been eating the Walker’s brand for years, typically as a holiday treat more than anything. While traveling in Scotland, I picked up a couple tins of these shortbreads. Oh my! These are so much better than the plaid boxes. These taste rich and fresh, so when I finished off the ones I bought in Scotland, I decided to order more through Amazon. These were delivered quickly and taste very fresh. I did run into an issue where the wrong flavor was sent - I received the one with the “warming stem ginger” flavor accidentally, but got a refund and replaced it with the original flavor that I ordered. I believe these are the best shortbreads I’ve eaten and I’ll continue to order these again.

I bought these to include in a gift and am really happy with them for that purpose. Based on the reviews I was worried they would show up broken, but all three boxes arrived with the cookies in great condition. The cute packaging makes them feel nicer than a random box from the grocery store, and the taste and texture are good (got the three pack and immediately snagged one of the extra boxes to keep for myself, lol). The crystallized ginger is well balanced & present without being too sharp or overpowering. The box is also a good size for fitting into a gift basket or box- looks about 4" x 6" or so. That said I would buy them again for gifting, but it was for myself I'd just go for homemade or a less expensive store-bought. They do taste nice but I think you also pay a steep premium for the packaging/branding. I also wish they were all butter rather than including vegetable oils, but that's on me for not reading the ingredients list.

Do NOT buy these unless you want to get seriously addicted. These delicious cookies are buttery with a hint of toffee and a pleasing mouthfeel and crunch. Each bite should be eaten slowly with your eyes closed, imagining every molecule bursting on your tongue. They are indeed pricey for the size but worth every dollar.

Taste good nothing crazy, definitely not worth $20

The shortbread was even more delicious than I expected ; buttery and crisp with the candied ginger adding the right kind of balance to it. I served it to a friend of mine and she was so impressed with the first two bites itself that she took a picture of the box so she could order it for herself.

I ordered the orange/dark chocolate and I love them. The best shortbread cookies I have eaten. Highly recommend.

Sehr guter edler Geschmack. Der Ingwer ist der Pfiff. Man kann nicht wiederstehen und deshalb ist die Packung schnell leer.

Ein stolzer Preis, aber auch ein traumhafter Genuss. Wenn man sich mal etwas Gutes gönnen möchte sind die Plätzchen ein Muss.

They were average taste at best and it was only 8 small cookies for 20$.
