Great!
Ok so I was debating on getting this pottery wheel or a better more expensive one. I decided to try this one since I was like under 20 bucks, I love it it makes great pottery! I am 13 and I made a really cool pot with this set! I read some reviews to see if it was good and I have to tell u, some of them let me down. The people we saying it was really loud. Well yeah it’s loud but there isn’t gonna be a wheel that’s not loud unless you buy a 500$ one. I thought this wheel was great for starters I can make a lot of stuff with it! I thought it was cool that it came with paint and decorations! Any way if u want a pottery wheel that’s low price and works great you should pick this one! 😜👍😄

Nope.
Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. First off, what a mess. No, not the "Oh this could be fun" kind either. The pottery wheel doesn't work all that great and the clay included is horrific. Extremely hard to manage, even for adults. Never made it to the painting phase as we couldn't get much anything into any kind of shape. 3 stars as we managed to have fun making the best of what he had.

Same Experience As Other Reviewers - Junk
I had really hoped ours would be an exception to the bad reviews, but SAME. Foot pedal attachment did not work out of the box. Could not plug it in to the wheel unit and we could hear the power pack inside rattling so it must have come loose. Wheel worked with batteries for 15 minutes. Then it just stopping turning. Motor runs, but wheel does not turn. Probably taking this apart to try and make our best attempt at fixing it. Not a good product and Cra-Z-Art should just stop making it.

Fun introduction to pottery
Got this for my five year old for christmas as he wanted one. You will need to buy 4 'C' batteries to operate it - I overlooked that so we got the batteries today and we got it going. This is very messy - as to be expected though! You will need a container of water as the water really helps with the clay on the wheel so you can mold it easier. It only has one speed, which is fairly fast. I have no idea if real pottery wheels have speeds or not but at times it felt a bit too fast.My five year old LOVED it and we had a lot of fun. The pots we made are currently drying awaiting painting and decoration.I'm not sure how many more uses this will get, but it is a good taster of what it is like to use a pottery wheel and both of us are inspired to now find a class. The pots you make with this don't get fired (not sure if you can still fire them if you want to? I don't know enough about the clay), so it states that they are not for use with food etc - just decorative. I would love for him to be able to use this and them get the work fired afterwards so that it is usable. The wheel works well. It comes with some tools you can use to put patterns on the clay. The foot pedal is good and we used that as it was good having the option to stop if you needed to fix the pot on the wheel. It comes with paints and a glitter glue pen and some decorative gem stickers - we are yet to use them.We made three small pots. This is fairly cheap and so I think its worth the buy. It's good for practicing on the wheel for adults too! I enjoyed having a go.

Easy to use
Easy to use for sure. Super cute. Beware though your child may make you bowls and cups and expect you to use them. Do not use them you will get coffee all over your favorite top

Broke after 30 minutes of use... disappointed.
Broke after 30 minutes of use.Bought for my 8 year old, he was so excited to get this. We set everything up and pulled off a small portion of clay, kneading it until soft, then started turning it on the wheel. We were very happy with how it was working, and able to shape the clay easily, it started out pretty cool. After 30 minutes the wheel started to turn, then stop, eventually just stopping all together.I ended opening it up to figure out why it had stopped moving but continue to make it’s normal, but noisy sound. The three little gear wheels had become dislodged.I set them back as they should be, tested it before putting it back together, it would only work holding firm pressure, but putting the plate back over the gears never kept the right amount of pressure for it to work again.Neat Idea, but too cheaply made.Definite disappointment.
