Q: What is the difference from this set and the same brand set for $35. Is it the box the difference? Or is the quality better for the deluxe set?

Exact same glasses, just a better deal

Q: What size (diameter) ice ball will fit into the glass?

The opening measures 1 3/4" across. When I tried it an ice cube from my freezer easily slid in glass. The beverage part measures 4 inches high. I think this glass is intended for scotch straight or, as they explain at the distilleries, with a touch of water to intensify the flavor as dew on grass intensifies the smell of grass. Those same Scotch experts don't recommend ice with whiskey. This glass might accommodate a piece of ice or two but if you are looking for an "on the rocks" glass this is probably not it. If you are looking for a nice little glass with a good feel to slowly sip your neat whiskey this one is great!
