How hard are they? Here is my take...
Awesome build quality. They feel really nice in your hand. The perfect gripper for those who do not want to get blisters and callouses all over their hands. If you're into the heavier grippers, you will find the #1 and the #2 are great for warm-up sets. How difficult are they vs regular COC grippers? Its hard to compare them because what really makes these grippers a challenge is the fact that their silky-smooth surface and wider starting position kind of force you into taking the no-set close approach. Here is my take: -The trainer is very easy and could be closed by most people who have never used grippers. -The 1 is somewhere between the sport and the trainer -still very easy (If you have never used grippers buy this one first) -If you can close the Zenith 2 you would be able to close the COC #1-#1.5 Now it gets much harder... -I'm able to do ~4reps with the coc #2 and Gillingham #5 and am about 2-3mm away from closing the COC 2.5 and the Gillingham #6, yet can barely just touch the handles on the Zenith #3 for one rep! This is where you notice how much the smooth surface of the Zenith adds to the challenge in a huge way. -The Zenith #4 is a massive step up from the Zenith #3. It feels impossible to me. Don't even bother buying this one unless you can close the 3 or 3.5 (my best guess) ...or in the event that you just want a really cool looking paper weight for your desk

A great, no-nonsense grip trainer.
The Zenith #1 is a very business-like, professional-grade piece of exercise equipment, and a pretty stiff step upward from the typical sporting goods hand grippers. I was getting 40-50 reps with an Altus GoGrip on the hardest of its three settings, and I'm getting 12-20 reps out of these. With regard to the smooth handles, that's great for the finger side, which needs to slip as you squeeze, but a little too slippery against the palm if your hands are dry. A little knurling wouldn't hurt on one handle. The Zenith Trainer might be a good starting point for most beginners, and is only slightly harder than the Altus GoGrip.

Power to the hands
First quality gripper I've bought. I was dissuaded from CoC simply because I didn't want to maul my hands in the process of growing stronger. I mean blisters are great and all, but shredding your palms? No thank you! The action on this gripper is smooth, and a little WD-40 resolved any squeaky issues. The grip is a little slippery at first, comparable to a wood gripper, but the poundage is definitely worth it. If you've been using other generic grippers in the past and have been lifting weights, I say starting at #1 is a good place. The trainer will be too easy of a hurdle to clear.

Different gripper meant for a different purpose.
The info that was posted online about this item wasn't as clear as what I found in the box. This gripper is suppose to be 1 or 2 levels lighter than the CoC being used. This is not a CoC replacement gripper. It is suppose to be fairly easy to close and can be used far more often than the CoC we are currently working at is suppose to be used. Think of it like this. CoC is made for max intensity for grip strength. Low reps only and if you can do say 8 or more closes a set it is probably time to step up to the next level. The Zenith is suppose to be more of a conditioning approach. Should be easy enough to close say 12 times or more times a set. Both the CoC and the Zenith are great grippers but they do have two different purposes. Also, I don't believe the Zenith will help get that 1 more inch on the CoC. For me, it does not work that crush strength that is needed to close that last gap that so many of us have trouble on with the CoC.

IronMind Zenith Gripper : Best Gripper Money Can Buy
Excellent Quality type of hand gripper. Design to last many, many years. Best gripper that I own, have lots of different types. Will not be disappointed, very easy on the skin on your hands. Will not require to use chalk when exercising. agronomically design to fit/feel in the palm of your hand.

yuck
I bought this because I didn't like the knurling on the captains of crush gripper. The spring is too easy to compress and the handles are too smooth on this model. It slips a lot. I'm back to my Captains of Crush. If you're looking at this to avoid the knurling, I advise getting used to the knurling.
