Works great! I am quite pleased with it.
Let me begin by stating that I am most definitely not a coffee expert or purist. I do enjoy great coffee and espresso when I can. I depend on others to make the truly good stuff for me, and I can readily tolerate mediocre coffee as well. I was impressed with the packaging and apparent quality of this grinder. It is packed with a cleaning brush and a sturdy fabric storage bag. The grinder seems to me to be well engineered and is heavily built. It is very easy to use and quickly grinds beans to the ideal coarsenes for my morning single cup k-cup brews. I have not used it for other grinds yet, but it has an impressive range of adjustability of coarseness. I assume it will produce other grinds as well as it does my typical one. The grinder is fairly easy to clean. I've not had this long, so I can't comment thoroughly on its longevity. The build quality seems to bode well for long-term functionality though. Pros: Well built, wide range of grinds, easy to use. Cons: Not much to note here, but its capacity might be insufficient for some. It holds enough beans to produce grounds for 1 to 1.5 cups of drip brew, so multiple refills would be needed to make a multi-cup pot of coffee.

I LOVE this grinder! Consistent grinds, and quick and easy effort. Quality materials.
I had been reluctant to purchase a manual grinder, fearing that it would take a lot of time and effort to grind by hand, as I have often heard about manual grinders. I had bought a somewhat higher-end electric grinder but it just didn't give consistent grinds for my pour-over and had too many fine particles that clogged my filter. This grinder is awesome! The grind is consistent and perfect every time, and it takes very little effort or time to grind. I crank out a full 18g load in a few effortless seconds. It is easily adjustable as well. I also love that it's very quiet and I'm not waking up my family every time I grind my coffee! Quality of materials and workmanship seem really solid. Don't waste your money on anything else. Seriously the best manual grinder out there for the money, I think. The textured outside is easy to hold. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that you have to be very careful screwing on the base, as it's fairly easy to cross-thread it. As long as you don't force it, you're not going to do any damage by accident though.

A true Game changer! Remarkable value!!!
I've been experimenting with a french press at home. I was using a cheaper grinder form EZLucky. I was starting to feel sick from consuming all of the fine dust the EZLucky left in the coffee. The Timemore Chestnut C2 is such a fine piece of craftsmanship. The coffee tastes more like coffee now. Such an improvement over what I was using. It feels incredibly sturdy in the hand. Grinds faster and more consistently. The grips are mind blowingly comfortable! You'd think it might be uncomfortable but it's not at all. The grip will never slip. The channels between the bumps allow the skin to breath. I've spent time in manufacturing I'm not sure how they can sell such a fine machine for such a low price.

OUTRAGEOUSLY good quality
I'm a machinist by trade, which means I make metal/plastic machinery components as my job full time. I'm used to picking apart manufactured items and seeing all the shortcuts that we're taken to make the part easy- not necessarily good. THIS COFFEE GRINDER defies all shortcuts. I am absolutely astounded at the quality of the parts, the tight fits, the easy breakdown for cleaning, the nice clean readable markings on where to set the burrs for various brew types - the grind is very consistent. The bottom 'grind catcher' is a double lead thread, which simply means in a half turn it will start to engage, not like a traditional thread and bolt that only has one place to catch and start. Everything about this screams quality and pride. It stays together very well while grinding (not like the handle flies off like other models I've had), it's easy to hold, and it is VERY easy to grind, doesn't feel like your getting 'rough spots' it just pushes straight thru. If I made this, I would do nothing but brag about it all day - it is a remarkable piece of quality workmanship

Good quality where it counts, but not for everything
This is a 83USD grinder, i.e. it's not cheap, but it's also not the 200USD+ super fancy ones. All parts that matter have good enough fit and machining to do a good job and last a while. All the parts that don't have noticeably lesser finish, clearance/fit, etc. machining or stamping. With that in mind, this still makes it .. probably the best value you can get for a real grinder. Here's a more detailed version: * How it's made: - easy to clean (including full clean/take apart) - burr and it's parts are machined and seem durable - the shaft uses 2 bearings and is very smooth. Maybe 0.5mm of play between the shaft and the bearings - not perfect but good enough. More expensive ones normally have zero gap, which ensure they'll last "forever" - the structure that holds everything together is plastic, which is perhaps where the fit issue comes in. There is a protective ring that is screwed in the plastic structure - this means that eventually the screws will destroy the plastic and won't be able to hold the ring in place. Not a huge deal, specially if you never open it, but if you do, well, it's a thing. This can be fixed with bigger screws, or metallic inserts (I wish they did this as 80+USD, but it's not a huge deal) - the logo print on the top is of meh quality and i assume this will fade within a year. obviously not a big deal. * In use: - the grind is even - the coarseness is easy to set (yes you've to reset to "0" if you forgot how many clicks you're at, which takes a whole 10s ;-) - the grinding action is pretty good. There is some side-to-side play (about 5mm, so definitely more than noticeable but not a big deal) Get it if: you want the best value you can get. Yes, it's not cheap, but if you go cheaper you'll be disappointed. you care that it works for the next few years and give you as good of a grind as anything else, including more expensive grinders. Don't get it if: you want the absolute best as far as fit and finish. It's pretty good, but it's not what I would call ideal. you want this to last you 10-20 years of daily uses. And with that, this is a solid 4 stars!

Great for Bialetti
This grinder is weighty, well built, and produces a very precise grind that is super satisfying to do manually. I use it to grind beans for use in my 3-cup Bialetti, for which I've only purchased pre-ground espresso over the past 8 years. Being able to dial-in on the ideal grind size has allowed me to brew the best cup of coffee I've ever had (tip: I use Fogbuster Espresso 9 Bar beans and not quite the finest setting). After 5 months of daily use, I feel confident recommending this grinder to anyone who wants to grind small batches of coffee. If I were grinding for a French press or an auto drip machine, I'd probably get a larger capacity electric burr grinder. But for my purposes it's perfect. Compact, easy to use. Only thing I'd improve would be some way to lock the turn knob so it stays in place when you want it to, and make it easy to unlock to fill the chamber with beans. I've dropped it more times than I can count when trying to separate the grinder from the collection chamber. Luckily it's also very sturdy and hasn't broken.

Premium, precise, perfect.
I recently picked up the OXO Outoor Rapid Brewer (like an Aeropress) for camping trips and have researched and shopped for a manual grinder for a long time but hadn't needed one till now. Since I was primarily looking for a grinder to use only while camping I didn't want to spend a ton, but still wanted some of the features, quality, durability and precision of a premium grinder. Based on comparison shopping, positive reviews, and value for features I decided to try the Timemore Chestnut C2 - and it was also on sale. Wow. I love this thing. The fit and finish is excellent and it's just so solidly built and beautifully designed. It is truly impressive. Grinding with the SS conical burr and well designed handle is so easy and smooth that I find it to be very satisfying and almost therapeutic. I easily found and set a grind size I'm happy with and have been using this grinder every morning since I bought it. The Chestnut C2 with the OXO Rapid Brewer makes a delicious concentrated cup of coffee which I quite enjoy as a latte. I'm looking forward to trying different grind settings on the Chestnut C2 for cold-brew and for pour-over coffee. I highly recommend the Timemore Chestnut C2 not only for the quality, features, value and performance, but also because of it's beautiful design and fit and finish. It's kind of weird but I look forward to using it every morning.

Stop thinking. Whip it out and buy it.
I do not normally write reviews but the ecstacy that I experienced when after only 12 turns of the handle my coffee was completely ground I felt compelled to reciprocate my pleasure. I have two other coffee grinders of this type in the cheap and mid-range price categories. The cheap one feels cheap in the hand and takes 155 revolutions to grind sufficient beans for one cup. The mid-range one feels more satisfying and takes 155 revolutions to grind one cup. But this baby... of my... it feels like a finely machined masterpiece. It weighs three times as much and the tactile signals of quality, fit, and finish that men of taste use to, at the touch of a finger, divine the quality and value of a product screamed overwhelmingly at me that this here was a tool worth lusting after. I was originally very hesitant to spend this much on a mere coffee grinder. It turns beans to powder, how can I spend this much for that? Well, this thing is worth its weight in gold. I probably would not have been dissapointed if I spent twice as much. The thing has a 3-stage cone apparatus that performs five times the work in the same time. I literally went from 155 revolutions to 12. I feel that I may in fact miss the exercise that I had to put in with the other, inferior, plebian grinders... Just buy it.

last long
After 2 years of using, the grind is perfect, the quality is good, but don't wash it, just clean it with a brush

The best manual grinder I purchased so far.
The quality of this product is top notch. This is my 3rd manual grinder. It is way more expensive but it’s all worth every penny. Smooth grinding and it is effortless than my old cheaper ones. Highly recommended.
