Follow the instructions and watch the Youtube video, and you shouldn't have any problems applying the skin. The bubbles and the hazy soapy looking color both disappear after a day or so. The skin will turn out perfectly clear with no discoloration. Both the front side and back side skin are notched out perfectly for the device. They also provide a side skin to apply around the edge of the phone. The side skin is notched perfectly to fit all the buttons and flaps, however...The only reason I didn't give the product five stars is that when you wrap the side skin around the corners of the device, the corner section of the skin sticks up a bit and isn't flat on the device. I solved the problem by using scissors to cut about half a centimeter off the corners of the skin. It now fits perfectly and unless you're looking for it, you can't even see that there's a skin on the device. The company just needs to redesign the side skin to not wrap around the corner of the device.The skin does not affect the sensitivity of swiping or tapping the screen from what I can tell, although I'm unable to use the "glove mode" setting for the screen. But I don't know if that's because of the skin, or because I'm misinterpreting what Sony means by "glove mode."I've had the skin on my phone for almost two months now, and none of the edges are peeling up.One weird thing about the screen is that greasy fingerprint marks on the skin can't be easily wiped off by the common method of breathing on it to fog it up and wiping on your pants... When you do that, it appears that it just smears the fingerprint grease around, rather than removing it to create a clean surface. I emailed the company on their website about this issue to ask what products or chemicals would be safe to use for cleaning, and they never responded back. I've found that the alcohol wipes that are safe to use on computer monitor screens appear to clean the skin, but I don't know if that would eventually damage the skin, so I've only cleaned it like this once. I've just kind of learned to accept that fingerprints will always be visible.Update:It has now been five months that I've been using this skin. The front and back are in perfect shape, no edges peeling, no visible scratches, and no discoloration. It's still essentially invisible on the phone. Regarding the skinny pieces of skin that wrap around the sides of the phone... they are still stuck on there for the most part, still invisible. However, the edges of these skinny pieces are starting to peel up ever so slightly, especially around the power button where it gets frequently rubbed against. But as I said, the main two pieces (front and back) are still in perfect shape.

Not liking it.

Just applied my second shield today. I purchased it to replace my first IQ Shield about 2 months ago after I dropped my phone on its face. There was a deep scratch/cut in the middle of the screen and I was worried it had gone through and marked the permanent sony screen protector. However, the next day I could hardly see the scratch. I don't see anything about "self-healing" in the product description, but the rubbery material definitely bounced back into the original form. A week ago I dropped my phone again face down in the dirt. A little rock appeared to puncture the shield completely, it looked like it had really nicked the screen this time. I peeled it off to replace it and my screen was immaculate!I will continue to purchase these protectors. If the sides lift for any reason, like lint or dirt under the edges, I've been able to wash off the corner and lay it back down, with no evidence.

Substandard. Difficult to install cleanly. Then after finally getting it installed you will be very disappointed in the exaggerated fingerprints. All in all a waste of money.

*IMPORTANT* Follow the installation instructions, and make sure you wash your hands before installing this screen protector. I am embarrassed to say that I had to buy a second one because I thought I would just peel and apply the first, and was unhappy with the fingerprints that were permanently under the cover. The cover for the rest of the phone was unnecessary since I have a hard case cover for the phone, but I think I'll put it on to keep the case from rubbing the body of the phone.

Fits the phone well, I like the harder plastic material, can hardly notice its there

It wasn't even for my Sony Xperia Z1 it was for the Z and it the protector didn't fit! worst money i spent!!!!!!

Just like with any screen protector, you probably want to pretend that you're going into surgery before you start putting this thing on. I do have one small black dot under my screen, but that's not the manufacturer's problem at all.IT DOESN'T COME WITH the liquid solution to help you apply it. I used the stuff that came with a (different brand) screen protector for an older phone I used to use.
