Average skills needed for self-installation
On the plus side; Made in USA. Also, in the positive column is the VAST improvement in sighting a very small firearm. The Bodyguard by S&W comes with a black front and rear sight which is hard to see. I realize that this piece is designed for personal, close-up protection and not for competitive shooting. Having said that, there is a rule of thumb that you should only shoot where you are aiming. These sights make that goal very attainable. I am not a marksman, but I was able to put a decent grouping at 45 feet, and one bulls-eye at 20 feet so the sighting in for this amateur is good enough for close up use that I hope to never need.On the negative side, I was a bit shocked when I read that the need for a $45.00 sight file MIGHT be needed if the sight does not fit. FORTUNATELY, I was able to file off the base of the front sight to the point where it fit properly. The factory sight was smaller (see photo) than the new XS one, but perhaps the extra material is provided to make it easier to file down the material rather than trying to add some.Great product, and I will be back for upgraded sights for my Glock. Did I mention that it is made in the USA! Support this company, please!

Great sights, REALLY tight front post though..
I have these on my S&W M&P shield and I love them. Decided to pick them up for my S&W Bodyguard in 380 Bodyguard and they were EXTREMELY tight, like to the point where I had to use a file and shave down a lot of metal to get the front XS sight into the dovetail. I ended up really marring the front sight up because I had to use a ton of force to get the front sight set in and I ended up "sloping" the metal upwards on the front sight which made the sight not sit perfectly low in place. Using a hammer instead of a mallet which I typically use for handgun sights, I was able to pound the front sight in from the side and from the top (which I had to unfortunately). So at the end of the day I got them in, do I really care about them being marred up a little bit? No, its a tool to me and I paid $169 for the bodyguard brand new with the Smith and Wesson rebate going on right now, so no biggie to me. The rear sight went in nice and easy by the way. Maybe XS gave me the wrong front sight or something but either way I made it work. If you don't have a problem putting in some work or marring the sight up a little bit then, they're great! If the front sight wasn't so tight and required all the extra work, I would have rated 5 stars!

Great sights for my BG380
Great sights for my BG380. install took about 45 minutes using a sight removal tool. Great ease of target acquisition. Very bright at night. Great update to the bodyguard.

Do not waste your money if you need a night sight!
I purchased the Xs 24/7 Big Dot S&W Bodyguard 380 night sights because I have installed night sights on all of my other pistols. These weren't anymore difficult to install than any of the others ( a lot of work getting them to slide into the grooves despite having a sight press). The problem with these sights is that what you see in the product description give you the impression that the front and rear sights glow in the dark, but actually, the rear sight just has a white painted line on it. Of course after dark, this painted line is invisible, so you can only see the front sight, but have nothing to reference it to!Not sure what they were thinking (if they were) when they put this set together, but it sure wasn't night shooting!

Nice Sights, But They Don't Fit the Gun.
I ordered these sights for my Bodyguard and watched an installation video on You tube while waiting for them. The guy installing them had trouble with the front sight being too small for the dovetail on the gun. The sight would slide very loosely in the dovetail and he had to use the locktight provided to hold it in and hope for the best.Well mine came in the mail and when I went to install them, I had the very same issue!! I used the locktite to hold it in like he did, and so far it hasn't moved, but I do expect at sometime (being a pocket gun) that it will break loose and I will find the sight in the bottom of my pocket. The rear sight had the opposite issue as I had to file it a ton before it would fit.I do like the sight picture, and the tritium front is a nice touch, but can't give more than 2 stars because of poor fit.

Just ok
Purchased in April and tried to use the plastic drift to remove the stock sights. Good luck with that folks. Finally got it to a gun smith in November and it took some serious force to remove the old sights. The new sights both went in with a few taps of a small hammer and drift. Not tight enough for permanent install but tight enough to sigh in before gluing, the smith advised. At the range it took one minor adjustment to be on for my technique and I used a few small drops of industrial strength super glue to secure. Time will tell if the bond is good.Wish the tritium dot was slightly larger and the sights fit better but like the sight picture.

Can't see to aim? Me neither!
The Bodyguard has the best factory sights of any of the micro 380s. Some pistol sights (Taurus TCP) are too small even for an eagle-eyed 19-year-old... Yes, I know this is a belly gun and not a range gun or a target pistol, but still I want to do some aimed shooting. Enter the Big Dot. Two things: have a gunsmith install the sights (ignore the included plastic "drift" in the kit) and study the instructions on how to align the Big Dot... cover the point of aim with the front sight, not a 6 o'clock hold. Unnecessary feature: front sight is a tritium night sight that glows in total darkness. No way I'm going to fire in total darkness because I don't know what I am shooting at. It would be a better buy without the tritium capsule. Old eyes? Buy it.

Very nice night sight for the little Bodygaurd 380 pistol
Very nice night sight for the little Bodygaurd 380 pistol. I've used many tritium night sights, but this is my first Big dot. It definitely is quicker to find the sight picture and get on target over regular 3 dot type sights. But the one downfall is the missing tritium on the rear sight. XS should add a small tritium vial to the rear to replace the white painted stripe which is useless in the dark as it can't be seen at all. But I do like the concept of this. Installed easily (if you have done sights before and have the proper tools), and works nicely for the most part.
