On my second pair
This is my second pair. My first lasted approx. 10 years and saw a lot of range time. I did have an issue towards the end of their service life with getting a good seal around my safety glasses. I’ve bought the gel ear replacements this time to see how that goes. They work great, you can hear people talking around you perfectly, and not overly bulky. Highly recommended.

Best All Around Muffs & No wind noise
These are comfortable to wear all day. The gel ear cups for pilots (HY80) sold here really enhance that. I wear them on the range and at Long Range Competitions. But also wear them all day hunting. These are the only electronic muffs of all the ones I have tried that do not whistle in the wind. I have muzzlebrakes on my big bore rifles and this stops that hearing damage but you can hear stuff at 60-70 yards that others cannot hear at 20 yds. On a Black Bear hunt in Alaska I could hear a bear walking in the cover that my guide could not hear and then we saw him. A 416 with a brake can do hearing damage without hearing protection, these stop that. Other than the fact you are wearing muffs I do not see a downside to wearing these hunting all day, they protect you, they enhance your hearing and are comfortable to wear all day and the (2) AAA batteries seem to last almost forever. Got a 7’-5” squared Black Bear in Alaska this June and a 6x6 Bull Elk in the Carson National Forest last week in New Mexico wearing these so I highly recommend them.

Great for the shooting range
Blocked out the sounds of the other weapons at a rather busy gun range, was able to hear instructions from the workers at the range, and then, when firing my Smith & Wesson bodyguard, there was no trauma to my ears.

Good Electronic hearing protectors.
Fits well. Works well at the pistol range. Can hear everything, including the annoying people who have to talk the entire time they are shooting.

Save your ears. Don’t what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone...
Saw the review for this headset on You Tube. Recommended over the H Leight’s. I’m a novice shooter- just fired different calibers for the first time using the Peltor with replacement gel head pads. Shot 22LR, .22mag, .223, .243, and 30-6. Protection was very good overall while firing the .22LR, .22mag, and .223 through Remington, Henry under lever, and a dual barrel (tandem) shotgun. Blasts were unnoticeable, good suppression.Headset supression of .243 shot was good, though recoil/concussion of the rifle still very noticeable. Was able to hit the gong at 243 yards. Wish I could’ve compared this with a 6.5 Creedmore round. The 30-6 recoil/concussion through an M1 Garand was loud and startling even with the headset turned down to maximum suppressing, but ears were protected. Interesting thing about target shooting is although the recoil is jarring, you usually hit the target right on as long as you’ve centered it and held the rifle butt stock solidly against your shoulder. Other reviews mentioned Peltor’s are hard to use with gloves. IMO think using with finger tips cut off are better. You can feel where the power, volume buttons are located.

Awesome!
I find that the material used for the ear sponge would stick to each other when left under the heat and might damage it.. other than that it really works well! Im impressed!

Sufficient for anything short of indoor rifle use
I've taken about 10 days of training with these and wear them regularly to the range. These offer enough for pistols indoors or even short-barreled rifles outdoors, but you're gonna need earplugs to fire rifles in confined spaces. The amplification is loud enough to make doubling up practical -- I can still hear whats going on around me with plugs in at max volume.

... could immediately tell these were going to be way better then the Howard Leights I had
First off without having them at the range I could immediately tell these were going to be way better then the Howard Leights I had. As soon as I tested fitted them on and without turning them on any noise around me was instantly cut off. Powered on it and doesn't even sound like your using hearing protection at all. The only think I have noticed when testing them is when I push any of the controls I do get some cutting off of any noise on the side with the controls but nothing major to have an issue with.
