Reliable and Easy to Use — My Go-To Wire Stripper
I’ve been working on home wiring projects for a while now, and this Amazon Basics Self-Adjusting Wire Stripper quickly became my favorite tool. The first thing I noticed was how solid it feels in my hand — the build quality is impressive for the price, with sturdy metal jaws and comfortable, grippy handles that don’t hurt my hands during longer sessions. The self-adjusting feature is a game-changer. I no longer have to guess or manually adjust for different wire gauges — it automatically adjusts to strip perfectly every time, whether I’m working on thin 22-gauge wires or thicker 12-gauge cables. This has saved me a lot of time and frustration. It also has a built-in crimper that works well for smaller terminals, so I can handle multiple tasks without switching tools. The adjustable stopper lets me control the stripped length, which is handy for consistency across projects.Overall, this wire stripper is a great mix of functionality, comfort, and durability. Whether you’re a DIYer or a pro, it’s a solid addition to your toolkit that won’t let you down

Bad, so bad, just terrible.
I bought two of these cheap Amazon knockoffs. They are terrible and cannot be adjusted to work as smooth and flawlessly as the blue Klein one. Too lazy to return the red knockoffs, so I just threw them out and bought more of the blue ones. Once you use the blue Klein version, there is no way you would tolerate this red knockoff.FYI, I'm an Electrical Engineer and I use the Klien one for anywhere from 24 gauge breadboard wire, to 10 gauge house wire, to whatever-gauge speaker wire, etc. They work flawlessly across that range without constantly needing to adjust them.

5 * junk LOL
If you’re looking for a tool that combines epic failure with comic relief, this is your winner! I’m convinced it’s a practical joke that went horribly wrong. I bought this beauty thinking I’d save some time, but instead, I ended up with a new best friend: frustration.First off, the adjustment feature has the finesse of a hippo on roller skates. I’m pretty sure it was designed by a sadistic engineer who loves watching people suffer. I mean, adjusting it feels like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube while blindfolded. It clamps down harder than a toddler holding onto their favorite toy, but don’t get your hopes up—it won’t strip anything. Just mangled the poor wire like it was trying to shred a salad. And let’s talk about crimping! You’d think I was trying to convince a cat to take a bath. I’ve had more success crimping with a pair of salad tongs. I crimped so many bad connectors that I’m surprised I didn’t end up on a watchlist for crimping crimes. I think I invented a new art form: “Abstract Crimping.”I even roped in my electrician brother for backup. Watching him struggle with this tool was like watching a master chef trying to use a spoon to fillet a fish. He ended up shaking his head in disbelief, muttering something about how this should come with a warning label: "Caution: May cause extreme emotional distress."Do yourself a favor—skip the frustration and invest in a tool that actually works. Because this tool will turn your simple project into an epic saga of frustration!

Not for landscape lighting/ irrigation wire
Good item. Not good for low voltage direct burial wire. Insulation is too thick. But good for normal wire.. sadly I bought it for landscape lighting wire

Great deal if you're looking for automatic strippers/crimper combo!
I have used every function these strippers have to offer and I'm really happy with it. My one gripe is that it seems to slip on some wires which requires me to hold the gripping jaw closed with my free hand. This design allows you to strip wires quickly, and the guide allows you to quickly set the depth. I do worry about the quality of the red adjustable stopper because it's plastic and sometimes it gets in the way. That can be resolved by unlocking it and extending it outwards. A few times, a piece of insulation gets stuck in the inner workings and stops it from functioning, but you can tip it over and the loose piece will fall out. Otherwise, the build quality feels great. It's sturdy and the handle design that includes various sized crimpers has proven to be handy. I can't attest to the longevity of the blades, but I'm sure they'll last a while.

Cheap and works half the time. Don't waste your money.
Cheap. You will get what you pay for. Works about 50% of the time. Doesn't reset itself unless you do it. Covers get stuck all the time. Would not buy again.

Not reliable at all
I don’t understand how so many people were satisfied with this item. The crimping part is terrible—no matter how hard I crimp, it stays loose. The wire stripper is unreliable; sometimes it strips, sometimes it doesn't grip properly at all. I do not recommend this product.

One of best tools ever finally bought (age 78 do it yourselfer)
Finally in my 78 years, bought this ....... fabulous to have. Looks a tad delicate. I'm not in the business more often than a project every few months . . . . . this saves so much TIME and stress. ...working on putting in LED bulbs for example on a restored EZGO golf cart. If needed for every day use by a pro' ..... might not stand up forever, but a GREAT tool otherwise.
