Its a nice sturdy lock.

For its intended purpose - safety lockout - it's pretty good. It's not coming off the machine it's locking without a key or destroying it. For hobby lockpickers like me it's great because it's got the best core Master makes. Ok, that's not saying much, but seriously the 6-pin core on this thing is actually pretty good despite having been made by Master. This lock is harder to pick than an American 1100. Which, really, begs the question why their best core can only be found in a plastic lock when they've got locks that are invulnerable to any destructive attack short of power tools that can be picked by a 10 year old. But still, I think this lock is an essential addition to any intermediate hobby lockpicker's collection.

It is strange to see such good pick resistance from master lock, especially in a low security plastic body lock. The pins will wear down after extended use (of practice), but that is normal. This has some deep spools and I had a lot of fun picking it open.

I bought this as a practice lock. I'm fairly new and it was a bit of a challenge. Awesome value. I made the mistake of over rotation and dropped the pins. Had to heat it up to split the welded clamshell. Taped it back together, works great still.

Saved me from work I lost mine, but thankfully right after I got them they started writing down the serial numbers on them cause ig people did same thing as me

Be very careful when picking this lock open! It's a key-retaining lock but if you pick it open you won't have the key in it which allows you to turn the cylinder past the point it's supposed to turn. If you do this, the pins will fall out of the cylinder and into the inside of the lock body. This makes the lock rattle and the pins may jam up the mechanism and prevent the lock from ever opening again.

I bought this lock to practice lock picking. It was a great challenge to get into with its tiny spool and serrated pins. My brother is a truck driver and uses these on shipments that don't come with a seal. They're great for that purpose since they can't be shimmed open (ball bearing design) and are a bit of a challenge to pick. Of course, they can just be smashed open since the body is made of plastic, but that would leave a mark and let him know to report it.

Excellent core. If using to practice picking make sure you don't turn the core 180 degrees or else you will drop all the pins and severely damage the lock. Great lock for lockout tag out purposes!

That is a good lock for personnal security use at work and to lock machines or electrical panels...for our own security.

These are "LockOut" padlocks. They are for workers to lock dangerous things while they are being worked on to keep people safe. If they had more then one key someone else could open the lock and someone could die. They have very good 6 pin cores and also have security pins of different types and are very hard to pick. That makes them great for locksport.
