LEGO 75270 Star Wars Obi-Wan’s Hut Building Set with Princess Leia Hologram, A New Hope Movie Series

Obi Wan spent years hiding in this iconic hut while watching over young Luke and writing his Journal of the Whills. Well, we’ll see how the upcoming Obi Wan small screen series ties into that - if it ever arrives. Either way, the hut featured prominently in a New Hope and children should recognize it. Otherwise in its folded position it could function as a very welcome Mos Eisley structure.The construction of the 200 piece set is not very demanding and it took my four experienced little lego hands less than 45 minutes to complete the project. As always the Lego instruction manual, of about 60 pages, was very clear and straight forward. The hut has some nice detail and accessories, so it has a fair amount of play value. And a lightsaber training ball is included, that helps with the recreation of story lines. I’m less impressed with the figure selection. The Tusken Raider with gaffi stick is always welcome as a troop–builder. The other 3 figures look good but we already had several almost identical versions of each of them. However given the movie scenes that was to be expected. The included miniature hologram Liea makes up for this to some extent.The price of around £25 for this affordable but functional and very recognizable set is quite fair and leaves it in the small birthday gift category. I like it mostly and would recommend it.

We are a big fan of Star Wars Lego, and this set is definitely up there with our favourites.It’s great value for money and you get a really sturdy build with a couple of unique pieces; the hologram of Leia has been played with a lot. We particularly like that a lot of the recent sets have offered movie scenes that can be opened to increase the playability - you can play with the hut open and then close it up to put on display.The only downside is that the mini figures weren’t anything especially new if you already have a land speeder set but that is really clutching at straws as we thought this was a great set that is still fully built; even with a clumsy 6 year old!

Featuring the perennial favourite Star Wars, this is a nice set, which my young Star Wars fan enjoyed making and playing with. It seems quite small for the price to me, but he was very happy so who am I to judge?
