Gorgeous and Durable
I travel with only a small backpack and a carry-on on most international trips. This bag is spacious and well within the dimensions to count as a carry-on on planes.I just took this with me as my primary bag on a 2 week trip through Europe - planes, trains, automobiles, and 10k of on foot travel some days. I left home with it at about half capacity with clothes and as the trip progressed, it also ended up carrying four bottles of wine. At the end, it was able to survive without any significant damage with up to 45lbs of stuff crammed inside and carrying it across my body with the adjustable shoulder strap.I even had to check it in on my last leg to bring that wine back home.Stitching is still in great condition. No tearing anywhere. Clasps on the shoulder strap are still in good condition (given the amount of weight I was lugging around in this thing at the end, this is surprising to me). The only thing that did not survive was one of the two circular magnetic nubs that hold the front pocket closed. I didn't and won't use this outer front pocket so this does not matter to me at all.As a disclaimer, I did condition the entire exterior with a couple passes of saddle soap and protected it with brown polish before I left to moisturize and help protect the leather. I'm very glad I did. After I used the soap, the bag came to life - the leather bag became supple and strong. Now, after surviving this trip, the bag looks even better than when I first got it. I'll continue to condition it over time and cant wait to take it on my next trip.Awesome purchase. At least as durable than much more expensive leather bags. Mine arrived a little dry and stiff. For the price, highly recommend spending a little more on the saddle soap and polish to really make this duffel bag look like you paid hundreds more on it. Compliment magnet.

Absolutely perfect.
Well, first off; it's beautiful. Not goat, but buffalo leather which is thick and durable, like cowhide. The striations are more subdued than the photo; especially once treated with leather conditioner. All pockets are lined with a durable silk-like material and the zippers are heavy duty. No issues opening and closing. The main liner also has a zippered pocket. The outside pocket is roomy and the bottom shoe compartment is a very nice addition. The large outside pocket does have buckle clasp that require undoing, unlike magnets, but since this is for travel purposes and not a brief or messenger bag, that's probably a plus as it's more secure. The handles are well balanced and the strap extremely comfortable. Fully loaded it's still quite comfortable, even if having to carry for any distance. At only two inches longer than the airline maximum of 22, it does add more room, and unless just crammed to the hilt and viewed by a fussy gate agent, will not be an issue as a carry on. The bag was fully tanned; no oil residue and no "off smells" whatsoever. It smells like leather. It's a great bag that would cost $500 bearing an Italian leather. Even the luggage tag is leather. Elegant and will last forever. Buy with no worries.

Better than anticipated!
Just wow! First off, this bag is heavy duty. The leather used is thick and strong, and well stitched. It's very large and has some heft to it. It has quality metal zippers and brass rings attaching handles. In addition to the large buckle closure pocket on front there are also two roomy zip pockets as well as the shoe pocket on one side. Also, there is one large, zippered pocket on the inside. This is a beautiful bag that exceeded my expectations, especially at the price. Shipped fast, too. I'm super happy with this purchase.

Sturdy outside...not so much inside
I bought this travel bag for weekend getaways and short trips. It fits just enough clothes for a 3- day trip, and fits conveniently into a car trunk. The outside is well-made, looks and feels good, and both the strap and the handles are still comfortable when the bag weighs a lot. The straps have a handy wrap-around guard that snaps shut and is very comfy and keep the straps from flapping about. The nubuck leather finish will scratch and show distress - gently gaining more character - but you do have to be mindful it doesn't get too scratched up. I would take it on a car trip, but I'm not sure it's good check-in luggage for a flight - it could get really scratched up.The outside pocket with belts is very handy for things like books, pens, computer wires (unfortunately can't fit a laptop) as are the two side pockets for additional stuff like cellphone chargers, sunglasses, belts etc. It would have been nicer if the outside pocket was big enough to fit the average laptop, and also if it detached from the travel bag, so if you have a meeting, you can just take that leather pocket which kind of looks like a cool old-school briefcase. The inside is OK. Lined with a thin brown silk-like material which feels luxury, but also moves around inside - like a bag within the bag. There's an inside zipper pocket which is good for things like jewelry, watches. It's big enough to fit a small toiletry bag.The disappointing feature is the zip-up shoe space at the end of the bag. It's also lined with the same silky material - so kind of like another pocket - but it's not very deep or big. It's not as practical as it seems - for one, you won't want to put shoes into a silk bag: canvas would have been better. Also, I wear size 11-12 US shoes and they don't really fit, it's made for smaller shoes, or something that folds, like slippers. It's too small even for folded flip-flops. It would have been better if they put a bigger pocket. If you do fill up that pocket space, then it creates a bulge inside the bag - essentially it takes up space inside. So you need to fill the shoe pocket area first, then fill your travel bag, otherwise there isn't room to fit anything. Also, the silky material in the shoe pocket rips away from the leather pretty quickly with use. That's not so bad, because now I have more room to put shoes - but it's annoying to have material that tears so easily. My solution will be to stitch a canvas tote bag into that space: more rugged, more space. While the finishing touches are good - strong zippers with leather tongues, good metal buckles and rings etc - one feature I miss is a leather tongue at the end of the zipper. Without that, it's a bit uncomfortable to hold onto the end of the travel bag, and pull up the zip with the other hand. It's do-able of course, but a small touch like a little grippy tongue would make it easier.Overall, I'd say it's a good purchase: sturdy, has character, good size and looks very presentable.
