This book is full of innacurate tems and typos. It looks like the part about giving birth was copied and pasted from an article on horses, with a poor attempt at changing the words. I loved that the author added bits about owning animals while struggling with mental health problems and I truly believe he wrote this book with the best intentions, however it is not a reliable source of information for goat owners.

Do NOT buy this book, much mis-information! Right off the bat he says the average weight of a Nubian buck is 140 kilos and doe is 110 kilos. I assumed he obviously meant pounds but later in the book he again grossly misstates weight, this time saying a buck averages 308 pounds!!! Many typos, he didn’t seem to edit the book and parts he clearly cut and pasted portions about mares and foals where the paragraph started with does and kids. Dangerously he recommends feeding broccoli Family vegetables to goats which is wrong. This is an awful book and I demand my money back!

I purchased this book thinking that all information was about Nubian. That was not the case. The book was so basic about Nubian, that I felt that the information left me hanging. This reading was just wasted time. I know that this opinion is strong, but that's how I felt. I do not recommend it.

Not what I wanted at all

Contains some useful information but contains several spelling errors and odd typos "including what to do if your horse rejects foal" Like information had been copied and pasted.

Lots of practical information. Easy read

I bought this book prior to deciding if a Nubian goat is suitable for me an my daughter to look after. I found this book very helpful and educational. The information is practical and easy to read. I have bought 2 goats since I read the book and so far, they seem to be happy and my daughter certainly is!

I had really wanted this to be a great book as I love my nubian goats. Sadly this is a very basic book. Approachable for a complete beginner but is marred by typos and poor editing. The chapter about breeding also slips into referring to horses and foals! There are also some inaccuracies in the health section. There are much better books out there.

Great first book too read to get you in mood for buying your first nubian goats loads of information from cleaning to feeding I will definitely be buying some in the new season.
