I purchased this Kindle book as I wanted to get to reading and to make a decision on whether to purchase a boa or not.Upon reading, I decided that I really lack the ability to commit to such a pet for such a long time (I'm approaching 60 years of age)I did find that this book was interesting reading, but I knocked it down a star because I found a spot where a sentence just ended and never finished. Immediately after, there was another sentence that just started in the middle that didn't fit with it. (Some small presses do have issue like this with Kindle books and most fix them when issues are pointed out.)There were 3 - 4 occasions where the wrong word was used and a few times where a good copy editor would have been helpful.There were not enough photos (especially of the habitats). The photos of the snakes were not large enough to really give an appreciation of them. On one occasion, a photo that was supposed to show the teeth is too small, and all you can see is that the mouth is open. Maybe it is obvious to someone who owns or has been near them enough, but to someone picking this book up without knowing the snakes they are not obvious at all.(and it is supposed to be a beginner book)Those things said, I found it to move quickly and had already placed an order for a book listed in the suggested reading.

I own every book that there is about Boa Constrictor's in captivity,both the hardcover books down to the small soft covers and I must say that for keeping this species in captivity that this is the best book for information written in an interesting style that covers everything that you need to know about Boa Constrictor..It does not have color photos,in fact very few photos of any kind but the information speaks for its self.I read the whole book cover to cover in one sitting.It has 130 pages of pure Boa Constrictor information and that is exactly what I wanted.If you own a Boa Constrictor buy this book and you won't be disappointed...............

Definitely a nice book to have to read on boas. Great insight and solid info.

Loved the book. Was very helpful to a beginner boa Kepler like myself. It has so much information about cages, husbandry, temperament, and much more.

The book was great, it told me all of the basics to moderate care for boas. Really like me the way everything was presented. I strongly recommend this to beginner boa keepers.
