Stays very cold
They keep everything in a bag cooler frozen. Way better than ice with no watery mess.

if its not working your freezer may not be cold enough .. or....
adding on to previous review - I've seen comments about how this product is not working etc etc. It could be that your freezer isn't cold enough or you didn't keep it in long enough. I've been through those issues and had to adjust on my end. Once it turns bluish white its ready. Any hit of purple its not. Or maybe the liquid inside wasn't up to spec? could be any one of these if its not working properly.previous post: This product is incredible. We line the bottom of our coolers and place our bag of ice directly onto it so the ice stays frozen. If you need to keep product frozen, sandwich the items between 2 of these cooler packs. If you can wrap it in bubble foil or a mylar sheet better yet. A friend who lives in an area with occasional rolling blackouts, lines his freezer with these packs and its saved his contents on more than one occasion. Some tipts:- it needs to "cure" in the freezer for at least 3 days. Put it on the bottom so its not exposed to warm air during the open/closing process until it turns bluish-white.- don't take it in carry on baggage as an "ice pack" as if/when it turns back into its purple liquid form you will have to surrender it to TSA.- whatever it makes contact with it will freeze so never put it in direct contact with anything that shouldn't be frozen like your beer! They have different series of Tundra ice packs for this purpose.

Terrible product. Thawed before lunch
This took two days in the freezer to freeze. It was placed in a lunch bag, the lunch bag was placed in a refrigerator when I got to work and the ice pack was liquid by lunch time. Do not buy. This is a huge waste of money.

It works
It works. in a cooler, I wish it lasted longer, however, my fridges freezer was having a hard time. I put in two of these when the freezer was at 27 degrees and would not go colder. (They were frozen from being in a different freezer.) 20 hours later the temperature was 5 degrees—I was very happy

These Things Are Pretty Cool... Pun Intended!
So I like that these are made in the USA. I go out of my way to buy stuff that is, and it's usually worth it.I moved to the boons a bit ago and there are some stores I like to shop at that are a good drive away, so I've been using my cooler to do shopping every few weeks. I wanted to get more/better cold packs since I'm using them all the time now. These sounded sweet because they retain more cold, and can actually keep things frozen, so I figured I'd try them.Fun Fact: My beater 2nd fridge I have in the basement doesn't even get cold enough in the freezer to actually freeze these solid! I've sort of used that to my advantage in that I don't necessarily want things to turn to ice in the chest all the time... BUT when I do I've tossed these in my full size GE fridge and they of course get hard as a rock, and will then ACTUALLY freeze stuff they're in contact with. Pretty sweet since most similar products won't actually keep things frozen, just really cold. These also don't deform and bulge like some others I have, which is nice. In short they're just better engineered.I think Some of the reviewers who mention these "melting" quickly don't get what's going on. These things won't freeze solid until a lower temperature than many similar products... The reverse of that means they go liquid at a lower temperature too. However they will still be just as cold as another pack that is still solid. But ultimately they can retain more "coldness" if you will, and keep things proper frozen, because of the properties they have. I've had these melt and still have stuff be cold as heck in the cooler. I will probably snag some more of these when I need to in the future as I'm quite happy with the way they work.

Once you get them cold enough, they are great
They are exactly the size I need and are well made (and in the US), but be advised: these have to get COLD to freeze. If you have a smaller fridge with only 1 controller for both the fridge and freezer, it may not get cold enough. A larger unit with independent controls will be fine—set the freezer to 0 and leave them in there over the weekend. These are best for keeping frozen stuff frozen, not cold stuff cold—get the blue Chillin’ Brew series for that. The purple ones are good to get your ice cream home from the store, not to keep your lunch cold. The temperature differential is too great to use these to keep things cold—these work around 5 degrees and cold things are generally above 32—all the work goes into getting the items colder rather than keeping them frozen.Be sure you want a frozen food pack—these are what you want for that. They work well, come in good sizes, are rugged and won’t fail, and are made in the US.

Mixed Results so far...
These cold packs are well-constructed and trouble free, but for some reason do not seem to freeze well within 24hrs, even 8m a deep freezer in a single layer as suggested in the instructions. They are the right size for use in the ends of my cooler, which is helpful.
