Does the job
Haven't seen it in action: surge protection. Light on it isn't too bright. Design is good, you can plug in adapters and other large plugs. Size is very long as plugs are spaced far apart. Decent value for money.I was stuck between a rock and a hard place as I needed a surge protector that did not have a right or left handed plug, just straight in. This was the only one I could find. I really hope it does the job.

Good solid housing for all those wall warts!
I'm not really a big fan of Amazon nowadays, there's a lot of what I consider junk being offered but I guess caveat emptor. THIS however, is sturdy and well-designed. We had daisy-chained power strips being used for home water treatment and internet and LAN devices, and it was an ugly mess (IYKYK). The Amazon Basics strip arrived really securely packaged. It is a good heavy metal strip, and, wonder of wonders, the individual outlets really are spaced well to accomodate all kinds of transformers. We were able to securely mount it vertically along one exposed wall stud in the unfinished area alongside the entry point of the net service, and it looks much better - and we can label the wall warts once and see easily what's what at a quick glance. Others have said the outlets themselves seem insecure but that isn't the case on my strip, so maybe Basics has improved in quality.

Nice value!
Bought two of these for my shop. Mounted on the back wall under cabinets and very happy with the build of these. No more power strips in the way and these keep the wire clutter to a minimum.

Only one small flaw...
First of all, the PACKAGING of this item is PHENOMENAL! The screw tabs at each end are covered by plastic caps, and the caps are zip-tied on. The cord is housed in a sturdy cardboard tube. I feel that even the most careless UPS driver couldn't damage this thing! Now, the strip itself... The spacing between the outlets is perfect, any size plug or power brick will fit with room to spare. (But read the description carefully! Different length strips have different spacing!) The cord is heavy and the plug is robust. The lighted power switch works great, and the light is not annoyingly bright but bright enough to tell if it's on. The ONE small flaw is the outlets: when you plug something into them, there's a bit of resistance followed by a satisfying "click" when the plug is inserted. But once you plug something in, the outlet itself has a lot of "play" to it, like it's not firmly attached to the metal housing of the strip itself. It doesn't appear to be affecting the electrical connection to the plug, but it just makes an otherwise awesome product feel just a bit flimsy. I'm using this behind my desk for my computer and accessories, so I won't be unplugging things on a regular basis. But for someone who is using this on a workbench or something and will be regularly plugging in different things, you may be a little disappointed by how the outlets feel.

Heavy duty, spaciousness for several large plugs
This sits behind my entertainment center. All of the plugs back there no longer have to be tetrised just so in order to fit on one power strip. It's heavy duty and lays nice and flat.

Much more reasonable cost product to the alternatives
I was originally looking into the stream deck for control over my studio digital audio workstation but the cost couldn't justify that cost of the stream deck although it's very nice it's just way too expensive for what it does and I was looking for an alternative for that. So I purchased to x key units. A 16 button strip in a 24 button pad. I use both of them in software mode although I've never tried the hardware mode but these particular x key units is being used with cubase pro 12 in the studio and they're super easy to program and use they come with labels however you can make your own and the tops of the button plastic clear shells come off to put the labels behind if you like and there's also custom labels that you can have made for it I made a special mount on the bottom of my controller my behringer x touch controller to make sure that the 16 button strip of x keys was at the right angle it's actually permanently mounted in an aluminum channel that was painted black so it blends with everything else and it is connected directly to the USB ports on the back of the x controller x touch controller so far I've had them for about 2 years and I've worked great and I would recommend them to anybody else who's needs key command controls for any software not just music software and I would definitely buy them again and recommend them.

Useful Power Strip
This is a good power strip and having the outlets spaced out allows you to have multiple bulky plugs in simultaneously. I’m using it to charge 6 tool battery chargers which have very large plugs. This strip can hold all of them perfectly, which cleaned up a lot of space in my shop room. The cord it has is strong and thick, still flexible but can’t be creased or folded over which is good and safer then other cords I’ve used and why I’m using it in a shop.It can be wall mounted too if that fits your needs, it also has a power switch and an indicator light so you can kill power to the whole strip easily.
