Could you combine this with the original Villainous to play with more people, thereby increasing the max amount of players to 9 instead of 6?

You can mix and match any of the sets -- you don't even need the base game, which I really like about this game and expansions. But, as to playing with 6 or 9? That would not be fun, in my opinion. Way too much waiting time for a turn, and the game would be really *long* We have all of the expansions, but find 3 is the best number, and 4 is good. Beyond that? Not so sure...

Why are there 2 versions of this game. A Purple and Green box?

Hi Katie - the green box is the original version of Villainous - includes Prince John, Captain Hook, Jafar, Ursula, Maleficent, and Queen of Hearts as the villains. The purple box, Wicked to the Core, is our newly released expansion pack (includes Hades, Evil Queen and Dr. Facilier as villains). The purple box expansion, Wicked to the Core, can combined with the original Villainous (green box), or it can be played separately. Hope that helps!

If you have both can you play 9 people instead of 6?

As you add on the new expansion packs you can create a game of 2 to 24 people, there are currently now a base and 3 expansions to play. 6 players will be the basic 45 - 60+minute game length so adding more will in turn create a longer game..
