Effective: the DEET concentration seems to hit the sweet spot
Bought this after doing some research on DEET concentrations. Turns out 40% is right in the optimal range - anything above 30% doesn't repel bugs any better, it just lasts longer. Since I can reapply as needed, 40% gives me maximum effectiveness without the overkill of 100% formulations that can damage gear and aren't necessary.Used this extensively fly fishing in New England this soring - streams, ponds, early morning and evening when bugs at their most. And, not bites, not one: mosquito, black fly, or tick bite, which is saying something given how bad the bugs can get here, especially around water. The formulation feels less greasy than some of the higher concentration stuff I've tried, and I haven't had issues with it affecting my gear (though I still wash my hands after applying). Deet is notoriously tough on fabrics, and I would push this truism (testing the product), but it's as gentle & forgiving as I could hope.Lasts several hours before needing reapplication, which is perfect for a day on the water. If you're looking for something that actually works without going overboard on concentration, this is it. The science backs up why 40% is plenty, and my experience confirms it. Would buy agai

12.0 count is 2 cans - that both work great!
I'll give it a 5 because this stuff WORKS! Beware, though, that the 12.0 count package is in OUNCES, not cans. My 2-pack of 6-ounce cans is still good with me for this price.Drunk-buying me just needs to read the description better so I'm not initially disappointed. 😖😅😅

It Works!
It works, even for black flies in Maine! A light spray was all that was needed for 3 hours of kayaking in a remote and black fly infested lake in Acadia National Park.

ONE CAN
My only review is on the marketing of this product. The product itself is fine. I knew what I was ordering. However, it is very deceptive to have 2 cans in the marketing of this product. They aren’t different. You get one can. Show ONE CAN.

No unwanted pests
Even though I bought this product 5 or 6 years ago, today was the first day I used it. I decided to go shooting at a nearby Wildlife Management Area that is heavily wooded, high grass, and there is both standing and flowing water near the area I go shooting. So today I remembered to take this with me and used it since the ticks in my area are at their highest in years. Usually I not only have to constantly keep swatting away deer flies and mosquitos, but also ticks. Well today I didn't have to worry about any of that and had a really good day out shooting and as the day continued to warm up and I began to sweat, the protection remained. You can't go wrong with 40% DEET, when all your other top brands at the time I bought this product were only offering 25% DEET in the products. All the years of using these other brands with less protection against pesky insects makes me wish I would have found this product sooner. I do see where these other brands have now started offering 40% DEET also, but after using the Coleman brand I will continue to use this brand and only this brand because I know it works.Pros: Cost, Ease of use, aerosol rather than spray pump, doesn't take your breath away like other brands when being applied, holds up well when sweating, literally kept everything from bothering meCons: wish I would have used it sooner, wish I would have found this product years ago

Works Great and good value for the price too
This insect repellent is sold in the FL everglades, which have a flurry of dinosaur sized mosquitos — and this particular brand works. I’ve used many other brands and get bitten few times even when wearing spray, but I’ve never had a bite using this. Arrived on time. The dual package is great value. Recommend.

Bug free !
This repellent is one of the best I have used. It has a high amount of DEET, so I would be cautious in using this on small children, but it definitely works. Some of the others I feel leave a film on your skin, where this one doesn’t feel to bad in that department. Coleman has always made good outdoor products, and this one is no exception.

seems to work but took the dye out of my sandals
I sprayed this on my ankles then put on my black leather sandals. Within minutes I had streaks of black dye all over my feet - the color started to come out of my shoes and the soles got sticky. I probably should have made sure to let it dry completely (I only waited 2 minutes) but this is a concern people should be aware of.
