The NutriChef iron skillet comes pre-seasoned properly, leaving the initial work out and you are ready to cook your first meal out of the box. Easy to clean and it comes with a lid for a great value. The Good 1) High quality iron skillet - This thing is heavy! 2) Comes with a lid, also of high quality with a grip that is made out of silicone 3) Easy to clean - Initially, I used a natural cellulose sponge to clean it thinking it would fall apart after cleaning the iron skillet, but it was still intact. Be sure to apply some avocado oil or another good oil after cleaning. 4) Cooked my first meal for my family - bone-in chicken (3 large pieces) and it came out great. Heat spread was balanced and it gets hot, fast. 5) It warms up quickly. After a few minutes on the stovetop, the iron skillet became hot quickly. Quicker than advised. So please be careful. Tested it with butter to see how fast it would burn and it truly works. The Bad 1) The silicone handle is not enough to protect user from extreme heat. You will need oven mitts. Unless you are the Human Torch, it is a must. Overall, I am very satisfied with the value of the NutriChef Iron Skill with Lid. For $50, it comes with a lid! Great for cooking some foods on the stovetop in slow-cook fashion. It also comes with a small booklet to learn how to take care of your iron skillet properly. Although I find the instructions to be confusing for a beginner. The instructions and information could have been ordered properly with steps instead of just clusters of information that can seem overwhelming for a novice. Although this isn't a a big deal, I thought it would be worth mentioning. If you are lost, search a YouTube video.

Was a gift, the receiver used it for the first time tonight. Steak and peppers was a great first meal. Outstanding product!

Although the pan is said to be treated with oil before arrival,"seasoned", the instructions specifically recommend seasoning more than once before using it to cook on your stove. Not a major problem, buuuut, its going to make the kitchen quite warm this summer @ 450*F to season the pan for an hour. The bottom of the pan appears to be completely level and smooth which will make for great efficiency on our glass-top stove. I am hoping it does not warp when heated. Time will tell. Anyway, if all goes well a 12" frying pan, with lid,forever chemical safe, for under $50.00 is a great deal.

very very nice pan, good quality, not so heavy you dont want to lift it but heavy enough and high walls enough to not splash out. The lid is super nice, good quality with stream hole and fits very snuggly. The handle orange heat cover is extra nice added feature. I bought 3 one 12 inch and 2 smaller for family gift first then reordered the 12 for myself. My steaks have been fabulous to cook in, just right in depth not to splash without the lid with all the butter etc. The lid really sold me again to get it...it's so rare to find a cast iron the has a good fitting lid let alone a nice glass one. The lids metal rim is very very nicely snug to the lid, not cheap, great quality and the lid is very easy to clean. Great quality, you won't be disappointed if you want a good cast iron pan...comes with care instructions too. btw I"m not even a big cook but this pan has got me cooking all sorts of things now since so easy to cook too AND keep the cooking area clean and easy clean up. thank you! My family didn't want the lids to 2 other pans i gave them so i use them on my other pans...perfect fit too!

great pan. Seasoned like they said three times. And stuff does not stick. I have had cast-iron before but I didn't know if it would work with my new glass top. Ordered the 12 inch and it was so heavy and for one person it was too big. sent that one back and Ordered the 10 inch and it is just right. The only thing I didn't like and did not take a star away is the silicone handle protector. I had a cloth one and that works good. The silicone one it is too big and if you have hot stuff it will slip in the handle. If they made one that was smaller it would be perfect.

I am very happy with this purchase. Very fair price and quality product. I seasoned the pans following the instructions and have cooked eggs and steaks and other foods without any of them sticking. 👍

I was using my boyfriend's cast iron skillets for the past couple years, and I liked them so much, I wanted to buy some for myself. They were less expensive than I thought cast iron skillets would be, but they seem to be good quality. They are lighter than my boyfriend's grandmother's set, which I actually prefer, because the 12 inch pan was so heavy I had to use two hands to lift it. These NutriChef ones will be easier for me to lift while using. They are also thinner, which I assume means they will heat faster, which is also nice. They supposedly came pre-seasoned, but I seasoned them again to be on the safe side. They also came with a little booklet with cleaning and care instructions, which is great to have on hand, since cast iron requires special care, and I'm still learning how to properly care for them. Also love that they came with handle covers, I was using a dish towel or pot holder before. I'm excited to get cooking!

Ungewohnt schwer, ein kleiner Silikongriff dazu wäre nicht schlecht.

Stoven en bakken in gietyzer is toch aan te raden.

A very good pan.....big enough to cook most things....non stick if you look after it.
