Dorman 38667 Passenger Side Tailgate Latch Compatible with Select Cadillac / Chevrolet / GMC Models

Now this Chevy piece is SOLID although I broke the plastic tab hooking up the tailgate rod to it (never broke one before). Don't know why Chevy had to make this so hard to access. I just took the plastic snap off the old latch and put it on this one. Like how they included new bolts. Pay close attention as there is a right AND left one, so get the right one.

Not much to say beyond the title. This item is an exact match for the OEM. It fit perfectly and took all of 10 minutes to install. Dorman has always worked for me and my Silverado.

It is exactly like the original but boy, is it a bitch to install. To get the linkage from the handle through the latch and locked in place took over an hour with a needle nose, a screwdriver and a lot of swearing. Finally got it on and it works great.

Fits my '99 Silverado tailgate, and works just fine! Nice to have a functioning tailgate again.

Worked as it was supposed to. The springs on the inside of both tailgate latches had broken and they did not latch on their own. These bolted right up even though the tailgate was a little bent. 2005 2500hd. Works like a new tailgate! Worth the money!!

This was the exact latch I needed for my 2003 GMC Sierra. Worked wonderfully and now I can open and close my tailgate at will without the fear of it opening on it's own while drive 80mph on the interstate.

OTHER THAN THE LATCH BEING MADE WITH HARD PLASTIC I CAN'T COMPLAIN IT'S JUST LIKE THE OEM AND IT DOES THE TASK IT'S DESIGN TO DO. BUT DO WISH IT THE LATCH WAS METAL ,THUS THE 4 STARS
