The smell alone strikes fear into the hearts of mosquitos and ticks
Easily carried for camping and highly effective. Have you ever packed some camping gear for a trip only to realize something shifted and pressed the button on your aerosol cans and half emptied them all over your stuff? Once you do that one good time with sunscreen or bug spray you start thinking about alternatives since those caps don't always stay on the can. Turns out, this wipe alternative is more user friendly than the spray. For one, it's very easily applied. No need to worry about overspray near someone's eyes or worse, the food on the grill. Want to apply bug repellent inside a vehicle before you step outside into the unknown? Yeah, these are perfect for that. Secondly, these pack SO easily. I had several packs for me and 5 other guys on a riverside camping trip recently. They hardly take up any room and stack together nicely, but we only used maybe 1.5 packs! Fine by me, I've started using this stuff full-time and not just for camping. Finally, I can't forget to mention the lack of sticky residue that other products sometimes leave you with. You know, sometimes you spray yourself down and you suddenly feel like you haven't showered in 37 days? Then all kinds of dirt sticks to you like a magnet. God forbid somebody has any glitter. But not this stuff, you'll quickly forget you have it on. I rated the scent 5/5 because although it DOES have a stink, it smells way worse to biting insects. I actually like the smell knowing that bugs DO NOT. So far, after using Repel Wipes for a little over 2 years I haven't had one mosquito or tick bite while covered. So whether I'm mountain biking or hiking through the woods, camping or canoeing, or just sitting in my own mosquito infested backyard trying to grill some food without getting eaten alive; I can depend on this stuff. Take it from me, I'm delicious. Please don't make any changes unless that is to make a larger capacity package.

Works as promised! Easy and comfortable.
I just came back from a week in the lowlands of Bolivia. On the first afternoon there, I hadn't applied any repellent, since I was coming from the airport, and mosquitoes descended in a hungry cloud on my friend and me. Twenty minutes later, we leave our rooms after having used these wipes, and not a single mosquito bothered either of us. Several days later, there was a city of ants crawling in my room under the door. I took a used wipe and drew a semicircle on the floor around the threshold, and nothing crossed it all night. This really does repel insects of multiple types! I apparently have a body chemistry that attracts mosquitoes. I can be around multiple other people who are unbothered and leave with a dozen bites. Not with these wipes, though. I don't use lotions or body creams because I don't like the greasy feel they can leave, so I was dreading having to use the wipes, but they really aren't unpleasant at all. Yes, there is a *slight* greasy residue, but that soaks in after about 20-30 minutes. Yes, there is a *very* slight smell, but it's not unpleasant and that seems to fade quickly, too. I wish I had discovered these years ago. They would have made so many trips so much more comfortable.

very effective and long lasting
Wow-have remained fresh and functional for years, even stored in a hot car! Does a great job keeping bugs away and is so much easier to carry than a spray bottle.

> A SINGLE POUCH CONTAINING 15 WIPES
> The description is a little confusing. I thought that I was getting 15 individually wrapped wipes. Actually, it's 15 wipes in a single pouch. For families or groups, this is probably the most ideal packaging. For an individual, individually-wrapped wipes might be better. > Contains 30% Deet, which is the maximum recommended directly on the skin. > Deet wipes, lotion, etc., on exposed skin should be your SECOND line of defense. The first line should be clothing treated with Permethrin. Permethrin spray (such as Sawyer Products Premium Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent) repels mosquitos and prevents them from biting through your clothes. The only "catch" is that you need to thoroughly spray your clothes and let them dry in advance (I.e, not while wearing them). A treatment with Permethrin lasts for 5 or 6 washings. The ideal strategy is simply to have an appropriate set of clothing that you use only when expecting to encounter mosquitos or other biting insects. AFTER ACTION REPORT > I used the wipes on the back of my hands, wrists, face, neck, and ears on several occasions while on a tour of the Amazon River. Used this way, a wipe was sufficient for one person. Bare arms and legs would require additional wipes. However, I saw few mosquitoes, and most other individuals on the tour were not wearing repellent. More importantly, I experienced no burning or other discomfort from using the repellant -- probably because I applied it well in advance when I was not sweaty. Didn't make me stink either. The repellant was essentially unnoticeable -- which is ideal. The envelopes resealed securely. My experience may have not been a challenging test, but I was pleased with the results. > UPDATE - Three years later, the unused wipes in an opened envelope are still moist and usable!!

convenient.
These seem to be very effective. They're great to carry in a backpack/daypack. Nice to have one in a jacket pocket. I like to keep some in the truck console or door pocket. They're not too smelly.
