These clamps are a little quirky - but still excellent and are a must have!
I have the 7" 10" 11" and (2) 19" one without swivel pads. One of the 19" has extension arms -"U" shaped channels -that are slightly wavy or distorted but this has no impact on how well the tool works and for me is no reason to return. Otherwise the build quality and feel of each clamp is excellent. I am not so sure the texture grip slips any less than a standard grip but when I want to grab a self-adjusting clamp from the rack under my welding table it helps tell them apart from the regular manually adjusted clamps. The 7" doesn't fully release when I squeeze the release trigger at the tail end - at first I thought I would return the 7" but in use this is actually rather handy as it is the most-springy of all and it allows me get my fingers out of the way before nudging the handles open. Whiplash on the larger clamps is not an issue perhaps due to their overall weight. My hands are large I can work the two smaller models easily with one hand while the 11" is a bit of an effort and the 19" is really a two-handed clamp mostly due to weight. There would be relatively few clamping positions that could be attained using one hand on the 19" clamp. When clamping it helps to pay attention to the pads lining up to each other, otherwise they can clamp and then slip. There is bit of a learning curve on these clamps, but their operation is nothing short of brilliant and there is no way I would do without them. Surprisingly their clamping force is excellent. I expected them to be weaker than a standard clamp but they are clearly stronger applying greater clamping pressure for a given hand pressure. The release lever is more accessible than on a Vice-Grip. I have only just now looked at the chhanson.com website where they claim 7x faster 2x stronger and 100% easier. For me 7x faster is a push but stronger and easier absolutely! I have read here of people pinching their hands and I can see how this is possible. Being mindful when using these clamps is important and they do feel a little awkward at first. Half the time I wear a thin fabric machinists glove on my right hand but the rest of the time I'm glove free. The 11" with swivel pads is a large clamp compared to standard locking welding clamps and was a great introduction for me.Bottom line - while not perfect these are absolutely 5-star.

Very Handy, Excellent Quality
I purchased three of these over a year ago. I found them so handy that I purchased 4 more since then.As other reviewers have stated they can pinch fingers if you are not careful - but pain is sometimes the best teacher - I’ve only done it once so far!I love the fact that you can set the tension and then use them to clamp material of varying thickness without further adjustment. They are lightweight, quick to use, and very handy for drill-press tables with their long reach.I mostly do wood working and find that if properly adjusted these will not mark most materials.I find these very useful with my dowel jig, which often involves lot’s of quick clamp - unclamp scenarios.I won’t cover all the details, as there are other more comprehensive reviews already. Just wanted to weigh in with my opinion. Also, thanks to the other great reviews which persuaded me to give these excellent clamps a try!

GREAT CLAMPS!!
Easy one handed operation. A must have for any commercial carpenter, especially with steel framing. They are a little bulkier than standard clamps so they might not fit well in smaller pouches. I use an electricians pouch on my belt and they fit nicely in the leather pliers loop on the side. The wide jaws are also perfect for heavier gauge framing and the quick release unlocks with minimal pressure. A set screw at the hinge determines the locking pressure and rarely loosens. The only negative I've found is that since they self adjust they can't be used to pull objects together like standard clamps. Overall though they really are a time saver and save the frustration of constantly readjusting the size and fighting the lock on standard clamps and are especially handy in hard to reach places. Overall a very good buy and I'm very satisfied with the product. Buy at least two and make sure to keep them locked up when not with you. They definately stand out to coworkers with sticky fingers.

Safety Issue
Let me first say that I am an industrial maintenance supervisor that worked my way to this position. I've been around a lot of tools for a long time. When I received this clamp I was impressed with the quality and it seemed like the perfect size for small clamping jobs. I thought I would get a lot of use out of it.That was before I pinched the palm of my hand so severely that I have quit using this tool. The first time I regarded it as carelessness on my part. However, even being careful, if you are not constantly watching the position of your clamping hand you can easily get pinched by the grip. The second time resulted in swelling and a blood blister and the third just cut me. Keep in mind that I didn't do this all at once but I kept going back to this tool because I thought it was such a handy size. I have stopped using this clamp and it is in my "yard sale" pile. Maybe the bigger ones are better?

Good buy!
Not the best name brand but seems to work exactly as other brands. Once set to material, these are easy to use and quick also. The adjustment screw is easy to adjust and the tool seems very durable.

Highly recommended, professional quality tools!
These things are a bit pricey, but highly worth it. I do sheet metal on aircraft and I wouldn't want to do my job w/o them. They are very high quality, don't pinch your palms, very easy to release (one finger) even after clamping with high pressure. I'll definitely be buying more! Highly recommended!!!
