Bought this plate to replace an nearly identical one gifted to me years ago from a craft fair (that I accidentally dropped on my granite counter... :(). It was such a relief to find it here, because I rely on this thing. I used to buy frozen crushed garlic cubes, which never quite tasted the same as fresh and required some pre-planning to defrost. Since I got this plate, now I have fresh, perfectly pressed garlic in seconds. It's so easy to use, easy to clean, and is extremely durable (that it took nearly a decade before I broke my first one says something!) The included garlic peeler is a tremendous time-saver, too. The design looks great displayed on my kitchen counter with the included stand (which also serves as a drying rack of sorts). My only critique is with the included brush, which sheds easily and contaminates the grated garlic. Ditch the brush and just use a finger to push grated garlic off the plate.

I love love love this!!! If you’re a garlic lover this is good to get the best flavor in your garlicky dishes. There is no wasting of the garlic. You use every bit of it. The smells and the juicyness that this dish helps retrieve is mouthwatering. The size is great it doesn’t take too much space. The plate does not feel weak and the design is beautiful. This grates perfectly. Must buy my garlic lovers.

I love it but it’s hard to grate when the garlic gets small.

UPDATE: GET RID OF THE BRUSH! It falls apart and leaves little hairs in your food. About a week after receiving, I used it again, and the little hairs that fell out were unbelievable! I had to discard the food. I threw the brush away. My husband also reports that he ate some curry made with ginger grated and brushed off the grater before I discovered the brush problem, and after a choking fit where he felt like something was poking him down inside his throar, he finally coughed up a brush hair! ORIGINAL: I do a lot of Asian type cooking, and have always used a microplane; mine is older and not quite as sharp as it used to be. I saw people in videos using this type of grater, and decided to give it a try. It was shipped quickly and was well packaged. The little garlic paper remover tube also works well--I have always just smashed my garlic with the side of a knife, but the tube is very easy to use. The grate is very sharp! Unless the tips break off, which I have not seen in any reviews, it should stay very sharp!

These were great inexpensive gifts at the holidays. Even bought one for myself. I sought these out after seeing the same items for sale at a holiday market in NYC. These were half the price and packaged well with a nice bottle of olive oil and dish tail. Will get some more next time. Would also make a great hostess gift with some pasta and spices.

This is a very pretty little Spanish style ceramic garlic grater and it actually works!! It makes it easy to grate garlic and add olive oil to it, either to dip bread into or to pour into a recipe. I am very happy with it. It arrived abundantly protection-wrapped.

Bought 2 for my sons (who cook) for Christmas. Minces garlic really well but also ginger. Keeps someone from getting a huge chunk in their food. Works great. Great value!
