Megachef1.8Lt. Glass Body and Stainless Steel Electric Tea Kettle with Tea Infuser

I already had a hot water carafe, but I just loved the look of the clear glass (you can see how much water you have left in the kettle) and of course the pretty "night light" blue LED light, and since the price was great, I indulged myself and bought it! It's just perfect! It heats a full carafe of water in less than 5-minutes. And you can boil a little more than 1.8-quarts of water because it's large enough. If you like your boiling water throughout the day, this tea "kettle" is for you. It's functional, pretty and works great!

I'd never heard of MegaChef before so i read many but many reviews and researched many similar products for 2 weeks before selected this one.Finally i bought this tea kettle almost 1 month and is used once or twice p/day, been very happy with it, tea made easily, looks pretty nice with the blue light up heating the water and do very well (shuts off automatically when done, the most important thing i research when i selected because was a Christmas present for my mother has begun forget to turn off the stove when she boil water).Think the tea infuser should have been made a litte longer, when people just need a coup of tea, no 16 onz or more!Easy to use for older people as my mother.Til' now is a good value for the money i paid, and she is ver but very happy with this present! :)Cons: Very cheap plastic, dont give me confidence, so not sure how long they will last.After following the first operation instruction (filled full level, use, empty, waited 5 minutes, wash, repeat and use 2 times more, the "stainless" was stained with a lot of spots as corroded (attached picture).I would’ve given my 5 stars if cleaning would’ve been much easy!

This is beautiful & handy. It is quick to heat up & perfect for making hot tea (right in the pot), cocoa, etc., but also for that additional boiling water needed glory my canner....this definitely saved time & energy. Perfect.1.8L Max fill line, worth it's value ($21)

If you are a tea drinker, this kettle is awesome. I like the diffuser, using either loose tea leaves or tea bags. Heats very quickly, and looks nice on my stove.

The media could not be loaded. Holy cheap plastic base, Batman! Very flimsy, but the pitcher itself is built well. I guess for the price you've got to make some sacrifices. I can see why some received theirs with a broken base plate, but thinking about what must be put into these things, I can see why a higher quality one can be upwards of a hundred bucks. No matter how much water you put inside, it consistently does one thing; heats the water to a rolling boil, then shuts off automatically. So it's not just a timer, there must be a temperature sensor in there. I tried to show a realistic representation of its size in the picture. It's like a double-tall coffee pot, but realistically only holds about as much as a regular pot because the bottom is thick and the "Max" line is far below the top of the pitcher. (Max line is 1.8 Liters, where a Liter is 4 cups so technically less than a coffee pot, but still plenty) Overall, I think it's great. Very convenient and makes water much hotter than a coffee brewer.

Really love my electric tea kettle. Great price and the functionality was a plus.

I really liked the look of the kettle because it is nice but also because it entertains my son. It is easy to use for everyone in the house. It heats quickly and we have not had any issues with it for the 6 months we have owned it.

I really wasnt sure what to expect with this product because it seemed new and I'd never heard of Mega Chef before. Ive used the tea kettle now a little over a half dozen times and been very happy with it. Boils the water fairly quickly. And looks pretty doing it. I like the blue light letting you know when its on. I wish the opening at the top was just a little bigger to make it easier to get your hand in there to really clean it but apart from that, no other cons with this item. A couple times Ive run out of burners on the stove and had to make a bit of pasta. The product really isnt made for this purpose but I threw in about half a handful of angel hair pasta broken in two into the kettle, added water and turned it on. The pasta was on the edge of being done once the water boiled. I just left it in there for a couple more minutes, dumped it into a strainer and wha-laa....perfect pasta without a pan or a stove. Ive also used it for ramen and even threw in some frozen broccoli. When the water boiled, everything was done. I dont know if this will cut down on the life of the product by doing this but so far it hasnt effected it. Its actually a much quicker way of cooking pasta instead of boiling on the stove. Could be great at camp or in an RV as well where everything needs to be multi functional.
