This tool was a game changer for me in cleaning algae out of the tubing of my turtle tank filter. (My previous method was to twist pipe cleaners end-to-end, run it through the tubing, and hope it didn't come apart before coming out the other end.) The tool has a different size brush on each end, so it fits the flexible 5/8" tubing as well as smaller hard plastic inflow and outflow tubes. The shaft of the tool is made of tightly coiled wire that doesn't tarnish or rust. It's flexible enough to go through the curves of soft plastic tubing and firm enough to push through the hard plastic ones as well. It makes cleaning all the parts of my turtle filter much easier and faster than my previous "stone age" method.

After a year of operation, my dehumidifier drain hose clogged and nearly flooded the space that it was in. While jetting the hose out with water pressure cleared the clog, it still didn't get all of the filth off of the hose walls. A quick search on Amazon revealed this perfect "Aquarium Cleaning Brush," and it is just the right tool for the job. The larger brush fits snugly in the dehumidifier drain hose (around 1/2") and does a great job cleaning the mold/blockages out. The smaller brush fits perfectly inside the drain port on the dehumidifier, again, doing a great job of cleaning it out. It can be a bit difficult to control the brushes while snaking the hose since the assembly itself is somewhat "springy," but the flexibility is perfect for navigating tight bends while cleaning. All around, great product and not just for Aquarium use!

I bought this not too long ago and it is mind-blowing how quick and easy it is to clean my aquarium tubing. A process that before took me longer than I'd like to admit... Now only takes me 5 to 10 minutes max. The very tip of the brush bends a bit to be able to easily even get around bends in rigged plastic tubbing. I only had to make a single pass with some water in the tube in order to clean it and it looked brand new afterward. The bristles on the brush are strong enough to clean most gunk and waste you will find in aquarium tubing but won't be good enough for a really bad clog or stuff that has been left a bit too long and dried out. Overall works amazingly well and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the fish keeping hobby.

Worked for what I needed it to work for. Using it to clean the tubes for aquarium filters & gravel vacuum. Four stars because it's a bit more flexible than I like which makes it hard to push through the tubes easily. But other than that, it's worked like a charm.

I have two (2) - gallon sized beverage containers that have a hollow handle. After gallons and gallons of tea, I noticed that the handles developed a tea film that I could not clean off. I bought several "flexible" brushes, but nothing would bend or mold to the sharp angle of the container to get down into the handle. I continued to look for something to clean the containers with no success and eventually called the manufacturer. They were nice and even provided me a "coupon" to replace the items, but they did not have a solution for cleaning the products. Then I found this handy dandy item. It is perfect!!!!!! The larger brush fits just right into the handle and the coil flexes easily around the sharp angle and down into the handle to brush out all the tea residue. It doesn't take much to make me happy and this product filled me with joy!!! My husband's tea containers no longer look like I don't clean them. The handles are clear once again with no film/residue.

Cleans well, but does not make sharp corners

I've had a 150g tank running for a little over a year. I could observe the visible portions of my intake and output lines getting more and more clogged, and was afraid to know how ugly the rest of the lines were. I also noticed the volume of water being cycled was quickly diminishing almost weekly. Came to Amazon in search of a fix and found this gem. The reviews seemed to be very positive, almost to the point of triggering my standard skepticism. Could something this inexpensive really clean these lines out with a single run? Fast-forward a couple weeks later and I bought a set, took down my intake/outflow lines, and put this thing to the test. Was concerned this hose brush would be too short to pull through the length of my lines, as they're rather lengthy, running from the cabinet beneath my tank, out the back, and over to the far corner. My tank is an XH (extra-tall) tank, so it requires really long lines to get up and down the glass. This thing was just long enough and seemingly perfect-sized to pass easily through my lines. The only slight pain point was the back-to-back 90-degree turns in the plastic intake/outflow pieces going over the edge of the aquarium, though it only took a few moments to find a way to maneuver the brush through. Was in absolute amazement at the amount of gunk this thing pulled out. The visible portions of my lines looked brand new and after re-assembling my lines, the system was pushing some serious water again. Equally important was how quickly/easily these brushes cleaned up. Thought for sure it was going to be a real mess getting the gunk out of the bristles, but everything rinsed right out in seconds. Honestly looked like they'd never been used. One of the least expensive purchases I've made for my tank to-date, but far and away one of the most valuable. Could not be more satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommend to any serious fish-head!

Works great, use it to clean out all parts of my Aquaclear hangon and Eheim cannister filter. This thing is long enough to get through all the external hoses.

This is a good quality item which does a great job of cleaning aquarium tubing. Very handy.
