Series book
I will not read cliffhangers. I prefer standalone. My reading time us limited and if a story cannot be told in one book then it doesn't need to be told.

Plagued By Questions
Reading intrigued was like trying to find the one tree in the forest that was not leaning slightly. The problem with the plot of this book is that is sets up so many questions and mysteries, but it never tries to resolve a single one. By the time it is finished, it is more confusing then ever. The mysteries in this book have mysteries. What are siblings up to? Each clearly has their own agenda, but the reader is not given a single clue as to what that might be.What is happening in the house? Their are hidden places within and people sneaking around. However, the reason for all this clandestine behavior is missing. Why do the siblings have such a bad relationship with the father? Their are hints but no clear explanation. Why are the siblings in arranged marriages? Again, their is a clue to the father's shady business dealings, but no real closure is provided. Why did Bryn invite her college roommate to her home to investigate her family? The author does not even come close to answering this major plot component. Why did the family take care of the heroines college expenses, and why does she feel she is debt to them? Again, no resolution. The questions posed by this story are endless and rarely even attempted to be answered. If this is a plot to get readers to read the other novels in the series, it is an extremely poor effort. There is no incentive to read the next novel in the series because none of plot comes to fruition. There is no logical story line to follow.Utterly confused by this one.

First in this series and ends in a cliffhanger
This is the first book in this series but what a start. Quite a bit is going on as you are introduced to Bryn's family and wow what a family. The Christmas Family that is. Holly is in college and her roommate is Bryn. Bryn invites Holly to her family home but when Holly gets there, Bryn isn't there. Bryn's brother Jasper is there and as they get to know each other, wow they really get to know one another. So much going on in this book. Mystery evolves around this family but nothing is finalized as it ends on a cliffhanger so guess this is the start of a series. Looking forward to the next in this saga.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Straight garbage
This book is horrible. I will not be reading the remainder of the series. This is smut for no purpose other than to give you smut. There is absolutely no reason for either of these main characters to like each other let alone have such strong lustful feelings for each other. So what, a person is attractive, if they have no other redeeming quality what is the point? The mystery is forced and overly convoluted just so you can make a series. None of the siblings are particularly likable and even the best friend does not seem to be genuine in any way. Obvious themes of sexual abuse and other types of abuse and pedophilia prevail but they never actually give any detail. I would not recommend this book to anyone. I got it for free and I'm not someone who walks away from a book so I read the whole thing but I am upset at the waste of my time. Save yourself the time and walk away without reading this garbage.

WHATS NEXT
You know when you find a free book we as reader should really check to make sure we don't have a cliffhanger on our hands.that's what happen to, i saw a book that seam enjoyable and i 1clicked it,you guessed it 2more books to buy, what a let down. The book was great, but i as one reader am dispointed that so many author are doing this now days. How many books does it take to tell a story. When an author has more than 0ne book why not offer it as a box set, don't give us one for free and the next we have to pay an arm and leg to find out what the end will be.AS I SAID GREAT BOOK .Don't know if i will finish price to hight to pay for the rest.

Beware Cliffhanger but enough mystery and intrigue I don't care!
If you have read any of my previous reviews by now you know that there are something's I really dislike in a novel. For instance more sex then plot. Or too much reality without a happily ever after. But I especially dislike cliffhangers! And if I have to wait months or a year to get the next book I become extremely agitated. Intrigued by Z.L. Arkadie is part of a trilogy so a cliffhanger was anticipated. But by the time I got to the end of the book I was so intrigued (pun intended) with the mystery that I screamed in frustration when I reached the cliff! After I got my household to settle down, I realized the rest of the series was already available, so all is not lost. My only problem now is my overflowing To Be Read Shelf and reaching the limit of this month's book allowance. Oh to be as rich as the Christmases in Z.L. Arkadie's Intrigued! So putting cliffhangers aside let's discuss what I liked about this novel. There is plenty of hot panty melting sex but it is very well blended in the plot. In fact who is involved with whom is a large part of the intrigue. The other part of the mystery is whether or not the sex is consensual as well as the hint of a dominant-submissive theme. The characters are developed over time, naturally as the main character, Holly Henderson, renowned investigative reporter, gets to know them , as a guest of the Christmases over the holidays. This again adds to the suspense as you become aware that not everyone is as straight forward as they seem. I especially loved Harper Christmas the main male character. Harper has that Gothic hero/villain vibe to him. In fact the whole family mansion at the holidays With a group of family and outsiders has that Gothic historical novel feel to it. I loved those novels as a kid so maybe that's why I got so caught up in this novel. The suspense gave me that spine tingling feeling of excitement as I was drawn further and further into the story. And as I said before, even knowing, the author was going to leave me hanging from the side of a cliff, I was so absorbed in the story, I never saw it coming until I turned the last page. The wait to read the second book may just kill me! Ok so I was never good with delayed gratification! You can bet your bottom dollar , I will finish the Jasper Christmas trilogy, sooner rather than later!

What a book
This book had me hooked from the very start and when I finished it I wanted to scream. There is another book and I can't get my hands on it immediately!!! What a family the Chrismases are. Dirty mouthed, violent, full of secrets but each with very tortured souls. Jasper is so manipulative but I think he has met his match with Holly, and what has happened to Bryn and Dale? Fabulous characters and I am sure Asher and Spencer and Bryn could each have their own stories. So many questions about their father and mother and Arthur Valentine. What is the original sin that binds them together? Will Holly find out and can she find a future with the tortured Jasper? Unfortunately, I will have to wait for the next book but omg it can't come soon enough.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Shame
This had the makings of a good story but ZI Arkadie had to forget to write about the mystery, about the characters and the book suffered for it instead we got page after page of two of the main characters having sex then maybe a page stating what a good journalist Holly was only for her to be distracted again with yep more sex … not against it but it detracts from the story this could have been it ends on a cliff hanger the really means you need the next book in the series but unfortunately for ZI Arkadie I didn't care enough about the characters to want to find out what happened next, as I do with so many of the other books I read. Shame as this could have been a good book.

Not for me, not enough of a stiry
Holly is invited to stay at her old friends mansion for Christmas, she hasn't seen her friend for years but as an investigative reporter she can't resist seeing how the other half live. It's not much of a story, she meets Bryn's brothers and two of them are sleeping with a prostitute(weird)! The story follows Holly and her attraction to Jasper the eldest and its really telling you about all the sex they have and to know more there are two more books.

I'm disappointed. I didn't know it was a trilogy.
recieved a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.I find the story interesting. It is filled with secrets and intrigue. I was really enjoying the story and was looking forward to the exciting ending when all the secrets were revealed but the story ended with cliffhanger and realise that it is a trilogy. I would need to buy too more books the get to the conclusion. I was so disappointed.

The beginnings of a story
I was disappointed in this book mainly because it’s obviously not a standalone novel. Whilst there are several interesting strands to this story it makes no attempt to complete them and it’s a shame that the only way to gain answers would be to buy the set. Unfortunately, I was not interested enough to continue.
